Update on me.

Just a little update on me.

My weight is more or less the same, just fluctuating up and down on a daily basis.

Had my consultant appointment yesterday where we discussed mode of delivery.

She gave me a sweep, which afterwards I felt quite campy up until this morning. We also booked a c-section date for the monday 13th sept!:) If the sweep didn't help things along (which I don't think has worked!) so that's the date we are to have our bundle! We have to be there for 8am and I think I'm booked for 10:30 am but I have heard that these things can run over time with emergencies and what not. If I go into labor myself between now and then, I just let them know I'm coming in and I can have a section, or try for myself.

I had a mw appointment this afternoon as she wanted to now the results of the growth scan I had this time last week, I told her about the weight of the baby and that I have excess fluid (quite a bit more above normal I believe!) Told her about the section date ect.

She listened to the heart beat, which took ages to find as my little bundle turned from head down yesterday to breech again this afternoon! She believes it's because she has so much water to move around in!
My fundus height this time last week was 41cm, hence the growth scan, when she measured me today it has grown again.....to a whopping 45cm!!!! I have THE biggest pregnancy bump I have ever seen on anyone, and because I haven't gained a huge amount, it just seems to be all bump!

As you can imagine my pelvis is crying out ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! lol

So my bundle is most likely going to be a little pudding!

That's about it my end.

Hope everyone else is feeling well. I also notice there are quite a few newly pregnant ladies around here so a big congratulations to you all from me and my mahoosive bump! :D

Aww at least you'll know that in 10 days time you should have your baby in your arms and hopefully your SPD will start to ease for you.

Just out of interest how accurate is the growth scan? Is it an actual ultrasound scan or something different? I know they measure the length of your bump and use that to determine the baby's size, but of course some people have much less or much more fluid than average so I don't know how accurate it is. Was discussing it with my Mum last night who never had anything like that, then again, she also told me she never went to antenatal classes as they didn't have them in the early 70s! (whether this was because she was abroad at the time and my brother was born in an RAF hospital I don't know!)

I'm due to see the MW today, got a long list of questions to ask!

glad everythings good despite youre pain hun , how exciting knowing that no matter what, you will be holding youre little one within 10 days :0)

You sound a bit more positive with regards to your c section in your post and I am glad that you have 'come to terms ' with it being the most likely outcome;) If you have a lot of fluid that will account for your bump measuring larger , so you may be surprised yet with babies size. I wish you all the best and please keep us updated, take care, Jo

The growth scan is just like an ultrasound scan except they measure the baby again really, concentrating on head and abdo and fluid. I think the normal range of amniotic fluid is between 18-24/25 (not sure!) I have a level of 29. baby's weight last week was 7lbs 13oz but that could be plus or minus a pound, and I have heard of them being really out in other cases!
The measurements of head and body are accurate it's just the weight one that can be right out.

I just can't wait to breath normally again and walk and not wobble!!!! That will be marvelous! lol

I have totality accepted how this baby is going to arrive now, especially with the fluid i'm carrying and how some days she is head down and others she is breech! I am wondering about her size because I can't feel a huge motion as she turns just kicks so either there really is alot of water or she is not as big as they expect?
Also i would have many concerns about laboring and the cord, it's actually quite nice to know what's going to happen, but I will always wonder I suppose, but thats just me!

just really looking forward to the 13th now! if nothing happens before hand that is lol!

Oh how exciting that babs will be here soon. Wish u all the best x
