5 stones to go. IMITT!!

Hello people

I am checking in at 190lbs and my weight has been creeping up on me. This is the heaviest I have ever been. I was 120lbs summer 2008, 150lbs summer 2009 and now 190lbs. I am going on a calorie controlled diet of not more than 1200 calories a day and a one hour walk daily. I will be at my goal weight of 120lbs by January 1st 2011.

I have set out my goals which I copied from another poster and fit my plan.

Goal 1: Complete a week
Goal 2: Lose 1 stone
Goal 3: Lose 2 stones
Goal 4: Lose 3 stones
Goal 5: Lose 4 stones
Goal 6: Lose 5 stones

Today was my first day and I stuck to within 1200calories and did an hour walk. I used to consume over 5000calories daily and was very sedentary hence my 5stone weight gain in 2years. Looking forward to this journey.

I have lost 4lbs in one day! I must add that I gained a stone in the month of August so I can lose and gain very quickly. I have also reduced my calorific intake by almost 4,000 and did some activity. Nevertheless I am still happy. Anyone know how to enter my loss so it reflects in the left panel?

Day One
Start Weight: 190lbs
Current Weight: 186lbs
Goal Weight: 120lbs
Total weight loss: 4lbs

Thanks mitysmummy and crazycatlady.

I am down another 1lb. I will lose 2 stone in September because that 2 stone was gained very easily and knowing my body then it should be lost easily. Hopefully a stone each in October, November and December and have my old size back by 1st January 2011:happy036:. 2010 was a funny year for me and I refuse to carry the baggage bothe physical and emotional into the new year.

Day 2

SW: 190lbs
CW: 185lbs
GW: 120lbs
Loss: 5lbs

BMI: 30.9
(just 1 bmi point and I will no longer be obese:))

Hi Happygolucky - how are doing? I really admire your determination. Good luck with your weight loss journey.

Thanks Meltdown. You have lost 5 stone which is my target and it's very inspiring to see it can be done. Do you have a journal on this site I can read?

Well I didn't weigh myself yesterday but stepped on scales today and I have lost an additional 5lbs bringing my total loss to 10lbs to date and 60lbs to go. I also feel a bit more in control of my life because I am facing negative emotions head on now whereas before I would withdraw and stuff my face to feel better. Anyway that's in the past, I am getting back to being my happy go lucky self.

Day 4

SW: 190lbs
CW: 180lbs
TW: 120lbs

Weight loss to date: 10lbs
BMI: 30.1

Just 0.2 BMI points to take me from obese to overweight

No journal I'm afraid. I've lost it by calorie counting and eating as healthily as possible. No processed food, no alcohol , no bread. I have lots of veggies, salad, fruit & lean protein. There are lots of good ideas and recipes on here that have really helped me.

A loss of 10lbs in 4 days is incredible. I lost 9lbs in my first week and thought that was fantastic.

Thanks 86al, I am hanging in there

Meltdown, your diet sounds very similar to mine. Carbs were my downfall prior.

I have lost an additional 2lbs so I am down to 178lbs. Will continue weighing every other day. Didn't do my walk today though so will have to do an hour and a half over the next few days to compensate.

Day 6

SW: 190lbs
CW: 178lbs
TW: 120lbs
Loss: 12lbs

BMI: 29.7 (no longer obese, I am now in the overweight bracket:))

p.s. never thought i would be happy about being overweight, sounds ironic

Inspired by your post - I'm in my first week and half 3 1/2 stone to go but as I'm a tad on the short side I'm still in the obese bracket with a BMT of 31.5.

Feel very motivated and Mean it this time so really enjoying this site.

Good luck

x

Good luck barbapapa. Fingers crossed you'll lose it this tme.

Well, I have been quite busy the last few days hence why i haven't posted. Have lost track of what day of my weight loss I am on but that desn't really matter since it's a long journey of 4 months. However I have lost 2lbs when I weighed this morning and you know what that means? I have lost a stone!!!:bunnydance:

SW: 190lbs
CW: 176lbs
TW: 120lbs
Loss: 14lbs = 1 stone

BMI: 29.4

Weighed myself today and I am down 5lbs. My eating habits are returning to how they were when I was slim. I don't need to eat all the time out of frustration! I prefer losing weight gradually.

SW: 190lbs

TW: 120lbs
Loss: 19lbs BMI: 28.5

i thought it was just me that seemed to be laggin behind.. but with my weight i need to lose 9st im prob best sticking to 2/3 lbs a week but it will be nice to have a few tips to get rid of a few more lbs each week

Hi Miss Mango! If you google BMR calculator, you can work out your BMR. This will give you the amount of calories you need per day, if you did absolutely nothing but rest all day. In my case, it is about 1500. If you multiply the result by between 1.2 and 1.9 (1.2 being a sedentary lifestyle and 1.9 being an incredibly active one) that will give you the amount of cals you can eat each day to maintain your weight. If 1lb of excess weight = 3500 calories, if you drop by 500 cals a day, you should lose 1lb per week, 1000 cals a day 2 lbs a week and so on.
Happy - you've done incredibly well, but I think you put the weight on really fast didn't you?

I found that BMR Calculator yesterday and I wondered what it was for! Thanks for the really informative post hun, I appreciate it.

I'm just trying to get together a few diet ideas so I can test out which works best for me. I'll go work out my calorie allowance now :)

Wow I don't have as much to lose but my goal is not to far off from yours. I love coming to the forum and seeing how much people do succeed here. Your doing a fantastic job hope you post some pictures soon!

Thanks for all the comments. Its good to know I can be inspiring. I must add however that I have been very bad over the past week and was dreading stepping on the scale and i did today and I have regained 3lbs. Not as bad as i expected but not great either. I started eating rice, bread and potatoes over the past week which accounts for the 3lbs. I find it extremely easy to lose weight and even easier to gain it back. I however want to get back to a healthy bmi before I go on holiday a month from today. That leaves a month to lose about 28lbs. It's worth the attempt and hey even if I lose only 8 out of the 28lbs i will still feel good. I was really eating mainly chicken (fried with skin), steamed veg and fruits during my weight loss of the last couple of weeks. I also started feeling a lot more positive about life compared to the miserable cow I have been over the past 2 years. Its funny how weight and moods are like a vicious cycle. The more weight I gained, the more miserable I felt cos the less attractive I looked and the less I wanted to go out with friends and socialize which meant I sat at home stuffing my face. I really want to do the Mastercleanse to lose 2 stone this month. I have done it before and each time lose a stone and a half in 10days to 2 weeks which I gain back in a month. It only works if you eat healthily after it rather than going crazy with everything in sight!

SW: 190lbs
CW: 174lbs
TW: 120lbs
Loss: 16lbs, BMI: 29.1
