Having been an SW member for many years (both successfully and unsuccessfully!), I decided to ring the changes and join WW in March this year. The problem is the difference in style between the SW and WW meetings! I'm so used to the SW 'way' and the mid week support stuff that, when I started WW, I felt my leader must be cold and heartless cos she never contacted me or supported me when it was really clear I could have done with it. I've changed groups 3 times now and have come to the conclusion that this must just be the way WW do things. Am I right to think this or have I just been unlucky in my choice of leaders? I only ask cos I don't think swapping groups on a regular basis is good for my weight loss or my pma so I'll stay put if this is how its mean't to be! I'd really appreciate hearing your thoughts and experiences. xxxxx

I've been with ww for just over a year, and haven't been contacted outside of meetings. The support I get from my leader is great, it is always worth staying for the meeting, but a lot of outside support comes from fellow members.

As far as I know, there is only one lady in our group who has received texts from our leader and that was just for a week because the member specifically asked for it.

The ww regime has really worked for me, hope you find a leader you like & trust enough to stay with and that you are soon seeing the pounds drop off.

from what i have seen at last weeks meetings if u dont turn up she will text or send a note encouraging u to come back or stick with it etc but other than that i dont think its as hand held as slimming worl having said that i really like our leader shes full of energy and down to earth and tells it how it is, where as the last slimming world group i went to the leader got switched and the new one was so depressing i left.. id give one group a good run and get support on here or make friends within the group for mid week just dont give up! nic x

Hi hunny this is a really big change and my only strong advice is to please erase sw ways and syns and methods before taking on ww (i have done both) sw gave me great losses in a short time but i just couldnt sustain it, however ww makes you really think about portions and their values. you will find lots of support on here and people will help at every crossroad you face but its a bit like learning to Irish dance when your used to ballet? Just give it time xxx

Hahaha Irish Eyes - I like the bit about 'learning to irish dance when you're used to ballet'! Oh that I could do either!!! I'm like a fairy elephant when it comes to ANY sort of coordinated movement!!! I get your point though - and that of Nicolaann and Pollyg. Thanks to all of you for taking the time to reply. I've decided to stick with my latest group. The leader is a lot more lively and animated than the previous 2 and the members seem like a friendly bunch (the last 2 lots were not exactly dynamic I have to say!). Settling down and getting on with the job in hand is the most important thing and, at the end of the day, I suppose it all comes from within anyway - and there's no-one but me can give me that. Thanks again. xxxxx

My WW leader has occasionally sent me a motivational little note in the post during the week if I've been struggling. I was never contacted by my old SW leader at all though.
