i'm bit unsure. Are there any herbs/extras I can add when doing sole source??

miss-r

I can do it!!
Sorry if this has already been asked but I can't find it. What can you add when on sole source?

I hear some people can have a bit of Coke Zero is this right?? (I know its not officially allowed) Are there any other drinks??

Is there anything I can add to shakes?
Read somewhere someone added cinnamon powder??

Also can I have powder splenda in a hot drink? I think its low calorie but it isn't allowed??

And what teas do people drink??
I have some rooibos/redbush is this ok??

Just looking for some ideas!!

Thanks

Hi!
My cdc said a coke zero would be ok but a 500ml bottle in a week!
I add herbs and spices to soups, but you need to be careful with garlic and anything salty.
You can have sweeteners but I think it needs to be tablet from and not loose - not sure why!
Shakes and teas no idea as I don't drink them!

The official guidelines will be in the boklet your CDC should have given you when you started.

Anything not mentioned in the booklet could have an effect on your weight loss. We are all different and what works for one person may not work for another, so proceed with caution.

Some people do have a glass of coke zero every day and they say it doesn't effect them. I personally wouldn't risk it and I use the Cambridge water flavourings in sparkling water as a replacement for fizzy pop, as I'm a Pepsi Max fiend!! :party0027:

I add cinnamon to my porridge and it hasn't effected my losses. other people have done it in the past and been fine as well. So it should be okay in shakes too.

Sweeteners have to be calorie free tablet form and not powdered, but I'm not sure why. I don't have either of them, so can't really offer any advice other than what it says in the Cambridge booklet.

All leaf teas are supposed to be fine, just steer clear of fruit teas. I recently got some green tea, which I will have now and then, but I'm not really a tea drinker.

As Funky Mum says, herbs and spices are generally fine. I also used tobasco sauce in soups.
