Helping others??

I have lost almost 2 stone in the last 3 months and everyone at my work place has begun to notice and comment. A couple of girls have asked for advice on how I've done it and want to know how many points they can have etc. I have done my best to explain the basics and steer them in the right direction but I am doing this alone (ie no classes) should I point them in the direction of classes as I don't know if I can deal with the responsibility of a WW class of my own (which is what this is beginning to look like). Any advice ???

I think you should point them in the direction of classes and/or here. You can only explain so much. I go to classes. It's quite a responsibility to take on. My parents tried to use me as their own ww leader and it just didn't work. I made them join online in the end!

It's OK helping a bit now, but you have to look at this long term. Will you still want responsibility for each of them in the months ahead, especially if more of them want to join in? It could involve a lot of hard work for you, and if they are friends now, would they stay that way when they are feeling deprived or disappointed when the weight loss is not going as well as they wanted.

If it's something you want to do, why not train as a leader and at least get something out of it (I assume there are perks?). Also, if you were an official leader your colleagues would have to pay and that would sort out the ones who really want to lose weight from the ones who have a temporary urge to do so just because you look so good.

Thanks, I think I will point them here as Weightwatchers isn't big over here and classes are few and far between which is probably why everyone acts like I am from another planet when i discuss the weightwatchers points system. I didn't mind helping one of my work friends with the points of things etc. but now 3 more have asked, they seem to see me as some kind of miracle worker who has found the elusive secret to weight loss. This country still has a lot of charlatan companies selling the pills and potions that promise easy weight loss, so I think people think I have a magic wand or something lol. I keep emphasising that it's really just about calorie counting (sort of) and exercise hoping that I am not giving them some false hope. You would think I had just given them a map to the fountain of youth. Weird!!

I've had people over the years keep asking me how many points in thus cals in that, TBH the best way you can help anyone is to simply say I'm doing 'X' plan read up about it as I don't want to pass on any of my bad habits. All plans work it's motivation and willpower that doesn't xx

Hey, If you truly have a map to the fountain of youth I could really use that :D:D
