Why am I not losing

Hi,

Im in the early stages of pregnancy and feeling very rough, Im not eating much, some days im eating only about 200-300kcals.

I know bub wont go without as it takes everything first.

I still need to lose weight and I know it's not a good idea trying to whilst pg, but its also not a good idea to be obese either.

im eating very little due to morning sickness, but have not lost any weight for 2 weeks, not even a pound.

Its to early to put weight on as Im not even 3 months yet.

Why wont my body shed the pounds, Im not in keto anymore, but does this mean not in keto, no weight lossed?

thanks

u can lose weight healthily while pregnant. i managed to drop 4 stone between finding out i was pregnant and bringing home the little bundle. i think about half that success was morning sickness though to be honest and the other half was following slimming world. we ought not mention i put it all back on and then a shedload more tho lol.

my weight was hardest to shift in first trimester and last. dont panic about the scales not shifting, the weight loss needs to be ur 2nd priority now and u need to find ways to reduce the sickness so that U are getting some goodness after baby has stolen all the good stuff. u need to be at ur strongest now.

just wanted to let u know u can successfully lose weight while pregnant and its all safe as long as u dont get silly (which im sure u wouldnt!) but dont stress too much. u have a long way to go and by following something safe like slimming world i reckon u would do really well.

well done on the baby btw! take good care of urself!

From your point of view, yes, but from baby's point of view, it would be better to stay obese throughout your pregnancy than to starve. 200-300 calories a day is NOT enough for your baby. You need to eat a normal diet plus your extra pregnancy calories.

If you are starving yourself (I know you are having trouble with morning sickness but you absolutely must eat - if you literally can't keep anything AT ALL down then you will need to go into hospital and go on a drip) then your body will not be able to function properly to look after the baby. Please think of your baby's needs first. Right now that needs to be your absolute first priority. Sorry if this sounds harsh but it's a tiny life we're talking about here.

slimming world is the only recognized diet for preg women by midwifes

so if you want to lose go do slimmers world you will lose weight and baby will get the right nutrients that way ,much better than starving yourself and you can keep it off if you don't eat like a pig:D after you have lost the weight you want just eat sensibly and watch your weight it does work just takes time to get used to it

You need to eat a normal diet plus your extra pregnancy calories.

you do not need extra preg calories even in late preg its been found if your overweight its best for baby and you and your preg to watch what you eat and even non overweight mothers need no extra calories

She needs more than 200-300 calories a day regardless.

my reply was she dos not need extra calories in preg nothing to do with not having normal calorie intake

Hi Mama

I think you need to try to switch from diet mode to pregnancy mode.

How about go out to the supermarket and buy lots of healthy snacks fruit, flavoured water, nuts and seeds (not peanuts), yoghurts. What ever you fancy.

Also buy yourself a couple of pregnancy magazines and some nice toiletries.

Pamper yourself and eat little healthy snacks all day. Mouthful here and there you will bring some of it up but some will stay down to nourish your baby and you. Your morning sickness will be worse because you are not eating. Hopefully it will settle down soon. Reading the pregnancy magazines will give you lots of good info on taking care of yourself and babe and hopefully help you to get excited about the wonderful changes that will happen to you in pregnancy. There is no need to put on lots of fat in pregnancy you don't need to worry about that. Just eat healthily you can't go wrong. Oh and stop weighing!

Congratulations on your pregnancy by the way!:)

slimming world was fab for me while pregnant. morning sickness was awful BUT cos u have so much choice, its easy to find bland things u can keep down. plain jacket potato with baked beans and that kinda thing is good for main meals.

a plain gingernut or rich tea biscuit in morning b4 u get out of bed is good for the sickness as well. u definately need to be taking more food in but thats what i meant by "look after urself as well as baby". ive heard of lots of women losing loadsa weight while pregnant while keeping very healthy for themselves and the baby by using slimming world.

hope u arent feeling too rubbish today. morning sickness is awful :( all worth it in the end, honest lol)

havent been online for weeks so the "sad" mood was over something from ages ago...will change that xx)

hope your feeling better soon morning sickens is horrid but eating might help the feeling of sickness
