Howdy friends, just have two things!
Firstly, does anyone know of anybody who has made it through attack, cruise and colsolidation and has kept the weight off in stabalization period? Like keep it off long term like is supposed to happen? is that one day a week on attack really going to be enough (as well as no stairs etc) to keep us lean and mean?

Secondly, I was out a lot longer than I planned today and was STARVING. After having a breakfast of poached eggs and galette in the house, I had 3 toffee mullerlights and 3slices of turkey breast...which I think was ok...but I also had three slices of ham from the deli counter at the butcher. how detrimental could this be? Are we not supposed to have ham cause its fatty or will it interfere with ketosis? Home now and just had a chicken fillet for dinner. May have another one later, Im a very plain eater.

Thanks guys!
:)

I think maybe don't weigh yourself tomorrow, not sure how detrimental ham can be... I know there can be a LOT of sodium in it, so you may retain water tomorrow and weigh more...but I'm just guessing here...

advice would be, get the leanest ham you can find/or avoid it....

in the meantime, drink plenty of water and weigh again on Monday x

if the ham was lean should be ok. Dukan says we cant eat pork but we can eat ham????????

dukan says: (typed directly from book)

page 61:

" Category 6: Low-fat, lean ham, with any rind cut off

For some time now low-fat ham and smoked turkey or chicken have been available in supermarkets. They have a fat content of between 2 and 4%. This is far below both lean meats and the leanest of fish. They are highly recommended and are very easy to use. "

ah..; but can you get "low fat" ham in the UK?

Answers on a postcard!
Over here we can get "fat free" ham - disgusting looking transparent square sheets of... ugh best not wonder...

I know we've had this convo before Jo - as you know I can't stand reformed, reconstituted... :S eeep...and ham is a big no-no for me...ewww

as is chicken roll :S.... tastes yakk

and LOOKS worse still!!

Hey sorry Ive been away for the past few days. When I weighed myself on Monday morning though I was 148.8 and deligted, thats was over 6lb off. Wont be near a scales again now until Thursday and really looking forward to seeing what they bring. Havent cheated AT ALL on this diet, a feat never managed ever before so Im pleased with myself. Did five days of Attack and started Conso today, but didnt eat much in total. Burnt my porridge+didnt have time to make more so grabbed a muller and ran out the door. Missed lunch due to work commitments and had a HUGE salad for dinner made up of chicken, 2hard boiled eggs, some Healthy Living Lean wafer thin ham, lettuce, peppers and cucumber. There were some jalapeno peppers in too. Are all these things allowed and can veg be eaten as much as u like on pv days?

You're doing wonderfully Banana!!
I'm so excited to start :D
So glad someone asked about jalapenos, I am THE JALAPENO FIEND!!
I <3 <3 <3 them!! More than I love my boyfriend! (well, just! ;)

Hello there! You're in Cruise phase not consolidation (until target weight achieved!)... it's sounds as if you're going great guns, and although not ideal to skip a meal, it doesn't sound as if you had much choice! What do you do Bananarama?

On PV days, we're still encouraged to have a majority of protein on our plates (I aim for 66% protein, 33% veg/salad but admit to lapses!). Jalapenos are fine :)

Keep it up!!

woo well done banana ;) top banana! lol
mm jalapenos :D

Ooh well done on the 6lb loss

I missed this...

I do yes know a couple... but there is no secret - we are what we eat, and if we go straight back to our previous bad habits, the one day a week on attack won't suffice.

As you probably know, I've failed several times at stabilising... I'll keep at it though until I get it right!

I think one thing which is important also is to not set unrealistic targets... if one's target weight is lower than one's "true weight", for whatever reason (mine is!), getting to that weight is possible with Dukan in Cruise, but STAYING at that weight could require more effort than one's prepared to put in. That's taken me a long time to figure out.

Oh yes cruise not conso, sorry! Im a primary school teacher starting back on Monday, but Ive had loads to do this week that involved travelling for my Dads business. I really didnt mean to skip lunch, but i couldnt get my hands on anything suitable, Ive turned to ham in emergencies too often this week. need to make a bigger effort to make sure I do PV days properly from now on, I didnt have my oatbran yesterday either cause I burnt my porridge. OOPS!! Oh well, its working anyway and thats the main thing. And I have to say its easy, im not hungry and I feel totally satisfied when I do eat. Ive sat and watched my sister eat chocolate with her tea for the past three days and its not bothereing me at all! In fact I feel a little smug that Im losing weight and she isnt!!

That was quite the jumbled up rant!!

Hi congratulations on a great start!

I know what you mean about feeling smug when others eat high-fat / high sugar. It's no problem saying 'no thank you' :) Although if it's my kids (and it usually is) then I don't particularly feel smug but I can see the point that my superskinny 6-year old definitely needs the calories whereas I don't! Anyway my daughter is well trained now, the other day out on a trip with a friend who was handing round apples and carrots she said 'look mum you can have a carrot', being so used to me not joining in... We've had endless discussions why I'm not allowed fruit even though fruit are good for you.

Anyway keep up the good work and enjoy your food!

Jalapenos would be great on that pizza thing M-mouse cooked up :) yummy...........

as for burning porridge (whoever that was)...try doing it in the microwave - quick and a no-brainer for burning :).........3-6 mins on low setting...
