TV Adverts

I can't believe how many adverts there are on tv for food! I never noticed it before I was in abstinence but they keep popping up.

The same goes for sponsorship of TV shows by food companies!

I love Corrie and they have Cadbury's as their sponsor:eek:
I can't help but drool.

A heightened since of awareness about food when on a diet:rolleyes::D

I agree about the adverts. To be honest I have stopped watching TV with realising it as tend to find myself busy with other things.

However I have started to gravitate back to recipies in magazines which test my resolve!

John and Gregg, can't make up my mind which I like best.

I noticed the adverts at the start of the diet, infact if anyone mentioned anything remotely similar to food, I thought of food!
The kids were talking about how big their muscles were & I had visions of seafood, they were moaning that someones feet smelt of cheese, I had visions of cheese & crackers.
I don't notice it so much now, but I am cutting out lots of recipes from newspapers & magazines, ready to try when I finish maintenence.

It's not just the ads on TV, food is literally everywhere. I recently had an emotional outburst when buying petrol and wondering to myself when/how did this society become so obsessed with food. I mean, I am there to buy petrol, and as soon as I step in the shop to pay, there is a culmination of crisps, biscuits, chocolates, not to mention the freshlly brewed coffee and pastries (sorry I didn't mean to make anyone hungry). Why does a petrol station need to sell pastries?? ( I know competitive market, competition etc..) I just wanted to get out of there as fast as I could. I know that I will have to be responsible for my own decisions (to buy or not to buy) but it just seems weird and certainly doesn't help our ever growing society as a whole. But on the positive side, I did take charge of myself and didn't give into my cravings , so at least there is hope for me;)

I tell you, BP's Wild Bean Cafe has a lot to answer for. Their breakfast latice bars and lattes contributed a significant amount of my significant bulk!

;)
