Dukan or Atkins

Whats the difference between these two diets?

Drop Vicky (member name: LVLLT) a quick message, I'm sure she won't mind. Vicky is on the Dukan diet.

Im here!!! I have done both Dukan and Atkins :D
Atkins is low carb and full fat , whereas Dukan is low carb low fat.
I Didnt do so well on atkins, but have found im losing ok on Dukan.
Dukan you cant eat veg every day whereas on atkins you can.
Hope this helps!

Ahh I didn't know that Vicky. I'm just doing my own thing, but I think "my own thing" is like Dukan. I'm eating low carb but not fatty foods

Ah you are probably doing Dukan then. I think the 'new' atkins advocates lower fat food.
Do you have a carb limit each day?

No, because I'm a fussy eater I don't eat a huge variety of foods. I don't limit my carbs, or follow anything specific. I just know I have 19g in my 2 shakes per day, and I just have a chicken omellette, or some chicken and veg, or meat & a bit of veg for dinner followed by a sugar free jelly.

and its working!

True, and I think it's easy to get to know your own body and what is likely to work, or hinder you. Well done on your 2lbs loss Vicky, you're nearly there!!

Thanks Tristar! I deffo think low carb is the only way for me to go.
Once I get to goal I know i need to start adding more carbs in but i think after a couple of weeks ill know what I can and cant eat!

I think Dukan is probably better...just in case (not saying you will) you fall off the wagon. If you are used to eating lots of cheese and fat Atkins style you will pile on the weight when you go back to eating carbs. Dukan teaches you slowly to eat more healthily. If you continue to be progressive with your diet I think it was be apostalgold success.

Best of luck!
