Hi all, i wasn't sure where to post this and i've already asked this in the shoutbox but i was wondering if there are any OCCUPATIONAL THERAPISTS around here? Or if anyone has had treatment by an OT?

Like i mentioned in the shoutbox, i am seriously considering this area as a profession (after i get some work experience) so i would love for you to share your experiences as well as answer a few of my queries.

I would appreciate any response.

Thanks in advance xx

a few years ago i had occupational therapy but it wasn't for a physical problem it was for my personality disoder. there are things in my life i can't / couldn't deal with so i took to my bed for a year[i am so lazy].

anyway the OT tried to teach me how to do cooking..they also help you to find or do courses or go to careers advice

for physical disabilities it would proably be more practical stuff...it seems to be about helping people to do things in general

sorry i can't be more helpful

Hi, please don't apologise, i'm really grateful for your replies.

I'm glad you benefited from the occupational therapy. I myself have a difficult time coping with my depression and anxiety and i guess i understand what you have to go through to some extent.

Its good to hear that you’re getting back out there into the community. It took me awhile to get back to volunteering etc.

I really do wish you all the best with your health :)

xx
