Thanks Ellebear.

Yeah I think health and feeling well is always a big thing. A wedding is also a big motivation I am sure you will look amazing next year - have you picked your dress yet?

I am currently at my wedding weight (got married 3 years ago) and now would love to be able to push past this point. I have struggled with my weight all my life.

I will be so happy when my BMI falls under 30 - that is the first big goal I want to achieve.

Hello, hello !!!!

My motivation is that I have lost weight. It will keep me on track.

I just woke up one morning and thought, this is it, this is the day to start a diet. There was no special reason it was just the right day.

It has been seeing my weight go down, loving the way of eating with SW and this site that has motivated me.

I wish you lots of success.

hey Sarah!!! no i aint picked my dress yet - i want to be much closer to target before i pick my dress, i am currently a very snug size 16 - so would like to be a 12 when i pick my dress!!!!

I hope to get to target next summer and get my dress quite last minute :D

I would love my BMI to be 25 or under!!! x

My motivation is that my weight was heading in one direction only - UP! I'm only 5ft 2ins and the weight sits heavily on me as I'm so short. I spent most of my life slim but my weight has crept up over the last 6 years because of medication I've been on. Because of this I quickly became heavier than I'd ever been. Previously, at my largest I was a size 12/14 but on starting SW was an 18/20, so I decided things had to change.

I find SW more of a plan for life than a diet. It retrains your behaviour by making small differences on what and how you cook. It certainly isn't a quick fix diet, but a way of learning new skills to keep you slim for life. I've never gone hungry on this plan or felt deprived of anything. I love SW!

Thanks - the pic really cheered me up and the replies have made me feel welcome. It is nice to know that we all in the same boat and trying to achieve the same sort of goals.

Hey Sarah, welcome :)

I decided that this year was going to be the year I lost weight and kept it off because it will be my tenth wedding anniversary on my 37th birthday. My mum suffers with type 2 diabetes and struggles with comfort eating and managing her weight, and I dont want to be in the same boat 20 years down the line.

I have also decided I would like to try and become a Slimming World consultant, and that in itself will require determination and motivation to succeed at keeping slim and healthy to be a good example for the people that attend any class I run. I really dont see how you can stand up in front of a group and claim the plan works if you are carrying an additional pile of weight. I really believe the SW plan is a plan for life that you can use to manage and maintain a healthy weight loss. It is certainly working incredibly well for me.

Good luck to you on your weight loss journey, looking forward to hearing about your successes! :)

My Mum and Dad also have type 2 diabetes and Mum has always suffered with her weight - it is something I also don't want to follow.

SW is definitely a lifestyle change and have really started to learn since joining SW that eating healthy doesn't mean starving and not enjoying tasty food. I am for the first time in my life preparing fresh food and creating balanced meals for both me and my husband.

Wow becoming a SW consultant is a great motivator and I hope you succeed in your goal - I see you are only 20lbs from target - well done!! I hope that at some point next year I can come on here and tell everyone the same.
