Noisy stomach and lumpy shake?

Hopefully the title got someone's attention! :p

I tried to make a vanilla latte shake today by mixing vanilla and water with a cup of hot espresso and although I used the food blender it had lumps of undissolved powder in it, Yuk! Is this because I added hot coffee and it curdled? How do other people add the coffee flavour to the vanilla?

Also once I have had my exante my stomach makes terrible loud gurgling noises! Does that happen to everybody and will it settle down? It will be a bit embarrassing at work

Hi there!

I'm doing Lipotrim, not the same as your diet but the same principal. Shakes and/or hot soup.

To make my chocolate shakes taste better i add a spoonful of coffee to it also. The best way i've found to avoid the horrid lumps is mix your shake in the usual way with 40ml less cold water than you normally would, (blend it) then mix your coffee cold with the remaining 40ml of water. add the two together and hey presto - no lumps!! Apparently the reason it goes lumpy is the same principla as using cornflower or bisto, it has to be mixed cold.

The noises.... oh yes! My dietician told me these are perfectly normal and although mine sound like someone hammering copper pipes on my insides the will settle down! Excercise helps, a short walk/run or just hoovering usually stops mine within a few minutes!

Hope this helps - good luck on your diet!

Thanks ever so much J! :) I wondered if it was due to the hot coffee, I will make it as you suggest next time.

I am glad I am not alone with the rumbling stomach, you expect it with hunger, not AFTER you've eaten! But I guess its just your stomach gratefully digesting what you've given it!

Good luck to you too :D

when i make mine like that i make up the 250ml-300ml of hot coffee, then blend it in the blender with the shake pack.

no lumps in mine either?

I don't get lumps because I have mine with less water as a mousse and eat with a spoon. The chocolate mousse nuked in the micro for a minute is like chocolate custard and the vanilla mousse is like sponge cake mix. Makes them seem like a naughty treat ;)
Last night I had terrible rumbling all evening. This was day 1 of my restart so hope it settles down soon!

Great tips, thanks girls :D

Completed 4 days 100% now, my tummy is still rumbling and this morning I felt quite sick. But I'm sticking with it.

I like the choc custard idea very much!
