Tasting

Hi everyone

I have to make something for a tasting this Wednesday at class. Does anybody have any ideas what would be good to make and take along there :D ?

Many thanks xx

Hi Carole, KFC chicken goes down really well but a bit expensive unless you cut the chicken up into tiny bits so people just have a little bit each. I've made a smash pizza before which the group loved and hadn't heard of. The roulade is a good one too. :)

Hi Carole, the key lime pie from the World of Flavours book is a real winner. Or you could make your own houmous and take crudites to go with it. Or a frittata of some kind!X

I just tried searching 'taster nights' and quite a few threads came up so give it a go for some more inspiration!X

I've made the coronation chicken (dead easy to throw together) which went down a storm, also the SW potato croquettes went well.

Hi there, here's my suggestion. Its very quick and easy and has 2syns on EE not sure about the others.

1 tin of chick peas - I have tried all the makes and Napolina brand is the best and yes you can taste the difference!

1 large potato - Microwave and dice to about the same size as the chick peas, keeping the skin on. Boil it if you prefer but with the microwave there is less washing up!

Some cucumber sliced (not to thin but not to thick either) and diced up smallish. I usually use 8 slices.

2tbsp of Tamarind Paste - Tesco and Sainsburys sell it by Bart

Chaat Masala - It comes in a box not a jar and is available in Tesco in the "Asian Area" Add this a sprinkling at a time, keep tasting as you add so its not to hot. I usually add 2dsp so maybe start with 1dsp.

This is a fast Indian Savory dish, I hope you like it... I'm addicted to it :D you can also add the Chaat Massala to fruit salad to spice it up, I know it sounds funny but its really nice xx

I also have a taster this Weds. I wonder if we are at the same class?

I'm taking along a few things, as I like to feed/cook

I'm making vegetable samosas at 1 syn each
Chocolate sponge, with white choc options "buttercream" and cherries on top
and syn free pizza.

Thanks girls what fabulous suggestions I think Im going to make a selection of these ..... much appreciated.
