Red Days a bread question

likes to eat!
Hi all, hope everybody is well ;)

Am a bit dissapointed, last week at WI, i lost 1/2 pound, last night I put it back on, I know 1/2 isn't the end of the world. But I started Red days 3 weeks ago since doing EE in Feb and my first week I had a 3 1/2 pound loss.

So anyway, my question, I have been having a lot more bread since doing Red days, I have been having a tuna sandwich on two slices of nimble most days, plus my other HEB as a hi-fi bar for brekkie or for potatoes with tea, do you think this could be causing the small weight loss/gain? I hardly had any bread at all on EE.
I am just totally stuck for lunch ideas, I don't really like salad, I was getting bagged salad leaves but spending a fortune!!
Then by the time it gets to tea-time I have used up both my HEBs and am stuck with what to have with my meat/fish.

Has anybody else gone from cutting out bread to having it again and seen small losses/gains??

Or any dinner ideas would be ace!!

I doubt it would be the bread. To be honest it's probably that you're eating more free foods and less superfree foods than on EE. Although a food is classed as a free food, it doesn't mean that they don't have the potential to negatively impact on your losses if eaten to excess. Why not post your food diary so people can check it out for you?

There are some people who bloat after eating bread so it may be down to this partly. A lady at group always gains when she eats bread and swears it's the only thing she's done differently. I guess the only way to find out is to go without for a week but do everything else the same.

I think that is what I need to do, cut out, or even cut down the bread I eat and see what happens

I do put my food diary on here, so anybody who has got any tips please let me know!!

As for lunch ideas, are you at work in the day so can't cook? If so then I think red's the trickiest of the plans especially if you don't like salad. What if you drown the salad with cottage cheese and tuna so you can't taste it?:D I don't eat bread because I find wholemeal bread a bit bleurghh and no substitute for white so instead use my HE on 6 aldi ryvita things. I find them far more filling than 2 teeny slices of bread and I have them spread with cheese triangles or cottage cheese and salad and whatever else I fancy, chicken, tuna etc.

For evening red meals you could have something like chilli or spag bol with veggies on the side instead of rice/pasta. Put a load of superfree veg into it and you'll be full enough I think.

thanks for the tips everybody..

Lunch is my main problem, I have bagged lettuce leaves with either tinned mackrel or tuna, don't like cottage cheese, so that is a no-no. I don't like toms, cucumber etc, I so wish I did!!

I don't know if I might be better going back to EE, but I was so bloated coz of eating so much veg.

I am doing a paper diary this week too, to give to my C see if she can spot anything what might be causing me problems. :(

I'm one of those people who's cut out bread hun. I only have it very occasionally these days (almost kills me as I'm a bread fiend!) I just wasn't losing anything the weeks I ate bread. Without it Ipretty much lose every week, apart fom * week!

I do mostly EE, so I tend to have things like spag bol for lunch when I'm in work, but ryvitas with laughing cow triangles and slices of cucumber are yummy! :D xxx

I also have the Aldi Savoury Bakes, which are quite tasty. You could have these with tuna mixed with quark or cheese, onion & ham.

When I have a red day I split the potatoes into lunch & tea which helps with the meal planning. But I also have lots of veggies as I do love them. do you like cauliflower, that is nice grated & a real filler.

I also have to cut out bread if I want to lose. I used to eat it every day, now only once a week (bacon sandwich on Sunday). I do red days and I usually take Ryvita and E/L Laughing cow to have at lunchtime with some tomatoes and cold meat. I really missed the bread at first, but have got used to not eating it now

I am sad to say that this is the case for me too, I love bread but I cannot seem to lose weight when I eat it so reluctantly I gave it up as a staple. After a bit you don't miss it and it's ok to have now and again as a treat it just doesnt work for me everyday even when it's limited.

my weight has gone to a stop so someone suggested to me to cut out bread to so thats what i'm doing this week.
we should do a no bread week challenge lol
only thing that worries me by cutting bread out is having troubles going to the loo how do others get round it. (sorry)

right, cutting out bread it is!! Thanks everybody!! Have a good week xx

What a great idea to split the potatoes! I might try doing a red day with that suggestion. It obviously worked for you, well done on getting to target.

I'm cutting my bread next week, as even with it, its not the bloating but the bunged up feeling I get

Scan Bran challenge for me too next week.

You fancy doing a Scan Bran challenge thread? lol. Too keen?
