I see alot of folk on here with constant losses week after week, a massive well done to them. But doesnt the body get use to eating the foods you eat on a regular basis and start to turn this food into fats? so the losses slow down or stop? or is that a load of bollony, Im just baffled.

I dont know about the science of that but my C always stresses the importance of variety as she does warn that having the same things, day in day out can slow down weight loss.

yes having the same things day in and day out can slow you down as your body gets used to them, easy enough to remedy this...just make sure there is a little variety.
i tend to have the same few a's and b's and snacks all the time but try to make sure my meals are varied.
i think its inevitable that most people will have a little plateau somewhere along the line where they sts or have very small losses for a bit but and its a big but....this isnt permanent and its very easy to give yourself a kick start again, lots of ways to do this.

Well done for being back on track.

I don't honestly think I've had 2 days the same since starting over again! SW is all about variety and choice so there is no reason to just stick to the same foods over and over. SW is a healthy change forever - it offers a varied and delicious plan to lose weight and keep it off. That's a change in mindset and behaviour for a lot of people but it really works as many on these boards have shown.

I think it can be that if someone gets stuck in a rut, eats the same foods, the same flavours, and the same textures over and over again, it can get really boring and so the 'diet' mentality kicks in! 'Diet Breakout' then occurs by eating unhealthily and uncontrollably and so the weight comes back, often faster and more than before!

As for losses slowing down, or stopping ocassionally, this is normal. As we lose weight, our bodies need less calories overall. So logically amounts of food consumed will need to decrease over time. But if the simple equation of "calories in < (less than) calories out" is true, then we will always lose weight. So eat less and move more = weight loss. It may be slower and plateau as we approach target, or as our bodies get used to what we are doing, but over time there is always a downwards trend. Exercise helps too - and essential for toning up the baggy and saggy bits.

I personally love SW as it offers a very healthy, flexible and delicious plan which I can live within, enjoy and know works!

Good luck! xx :)

Variety in food is a good thing, because it stops you becoming bored, and makes sure that you get lots of different nutrients.

But it simply cannot be true that your body will change the way it processes the food that you eat just because you have been eating it for a while.
