Hey everyone
I'm having one of those dismal days when even though the weight is going---I've lost just over a 1/6 of what I need to lose---I feel gloomy and demotivated. I look better---definitely better---but still not great. Does anyone else ever feel this impatient about weightloss?! Argh. I so want to be in the 15 stone region and not in the 16s. anyway, thanks for listening to this incoherent rant---makes it easier to know there are supportive people about going through the same thing.

Hi there!

It's annoying when it's so slow isn't it? I started off in January at 218 lbs, and I was so going to kick ass, I was so *ready* to do this and to expect the weight to fall off. "Imagine if I loose xyz a week I'll be so much by my birthday in July!" and then I hit a plateau. For 5 months. It was so so frustrating, and no matter what I did I just couldn't move my body past that set point. Then we went away for 2 weeks, where I had very little control over the food options. Came back, back on the healthy eating, and bam it's going again. Sometimes it just takes time. Remember that most people say loosing over 2lbs a week is an unhealthy amount. Just keep pushing forwards.

The thing with trying to lose weight is that on a day to day basis it just seems to go so slow, but when you look back over the weeks, it seems to have flown by! Daily my weight loss feels slow, but ive lost 3 stone in just over in 11 weeks and thats no time at all really.

You need to distract yourself and try not to think too much about being on a diet. Time will go by regardless of whether you are trying to lose weight or not, so you might as well be trying to stick with it.

I know what you mean about breaking through that stone barrier. I was desperate to get from 16 something to 15 something, and my weight always seems to stall just before i hit the next one down, so frustrating. But you have to keep in mind what you have achieved so far. So much better to be the weight you are now then the weight you were.
