Distractions?

Prompted by comments on other threads, what are your coping mechanisms or way of distracting yourself from eating?

Mine include walking the dogs, doing a bit of maintenance around the property and cleaning! My kitchen doesn't know what's hit it, all the cupboards have been cleaned, the fridge is done (taking advantage of it being almost empty) and my oven has never sparkled so much!

Edit to add - Doh! And coming on here of course!!!!

Rather tragically, farmville on facebook (!!), dog walking, horses, doing calculations of weight loss to come up with goal dates - reminds me to stay on track.

Funnily enough, I play Cafe world on Facebook to distract me! you are not the only facebook game-a-holic, LincsBren! lol

I try on clothes, or go window shopping when I get bored/hungry. (The walking is good excersise, and I stick by that!)

Playing computer games here - on miniclip though - don't do facebook.

Tore into my daughter's room this weekend and it's gorgeous. :)

Work - never have time to think about food, it's busy.

Pestering you lot here. :D

Bit of a theme going here, posting on here and facebook. Getting out of the house, going to shop, mums and tots groups or into town. Watching tv esp big brother and eastenders. Erm googling stores like coast and imagining wearing some of the dresses....all of the dresses lol.

I have to say I never found it all too much of a chore and have sat through many lunches, dinners and even a dinner dance! But, I did keep a diary in the early days which really helped. I put down how I felt and if I had been tempted etc... I looked through it the other day and I had forgotten about the metallic taste that I experienced in the beginning. Very odd!

The best thing of all was trying on clothes that were getting too big and back in to old clothes that had been too small. For me, this was the best therapy along with buying new clothes. I have had to replace the entire contents of my wardrobe! The charity shop is not complaining though. Which is more than can be said of my husband! TeeHee!!! X
