I was a professional Chef for nearly 30 years but I have never ever eaten or prepared a Pitta bread and I haven't a clue as to how you split them

I bought a packet of really nice ones from Aldi's yesterday and tried to stuff it with Salad, Tikka sliced Chix Breast with Teriyaki sauce and it tasted lovely but I couldn't make stuffed Pitta it just fell apart, HELP................

Did you toast it first?

xx

i microwave mine for about 15 secs as it makes them bendy and plyable so they dont just snap when you fold :D

Yep, toast them first, they don't take long, literally 30 seconds. And watch when you split is open, that steam inside can burn
Thank you all so much I really enjoyed my Dinner last night, a nice crispy salad with vine tomatoes, a wholemeal Pitta bread stuffed with Aldi's Tikka flavour Sliced chicken breast, only 225 calories n 3.6 g fat, topped with a delicious Tomato n Mint Relish, also from Aldi's, really yummy and filling.

I checked this morning and my normal bread is 117 Cal's per slice and the Wholemeal Pitta is only 170, about the same fat as one slice of bread and more filing than even a couple of slices.

THANK YOU ladies for putting me onto it as it will now be a permanent item on my shopping list :)
