Can a passport be used as proof of age?

I will be a Princess!
Hi there,

I'm off out tomorrow with a couple of the girlies from school who I haven't seen for a while. I've just moved house, so I've cut up my driver's licence and sent it off to the DVLA, so I was wondering whether a passport can be used as proof of age in pubs/clubs? My only concern is that it doesn't have the year of birth on it, only the date. If anyone knows I'd be grateful!

Your passport should definitely have your year of birth on it!

Most shops etc accept drivers license, passport or ID cards from the Portman (I think it's called!) group.

Have a good night.

how come your passport doesnt have your DOB on it??

Oh to have to prove you're old enough to drink

most places round where i live dont accept photocopies as ID, but thats probably because there's a lot of problems with underage drinkers in my town and they like to be extra careful lol xx

I don't think I've ever come across anywhere that'll take a photocopy, not now we have the wonderful tool that is Photoshop.
Then again, underage drinking is a problem here too, so who knows!

I always have to take my passport out and *touch wood* I've never lost it so far. No matter how drunk I get, I'm REALLY careful with my phone, purse, passport and camera. I think I worry a little too much, but never mind!

It should have your DOB on

Hate to sound like an old fart, ladies, but if I were you I'd edit your posts with your full DOBs on. You never know who's popped in for a read - better safe!!

Just a thought from an ole fogey, could you photo copy it cos if you lost it ......... it will cost and arm and a leg to replace it

Don't worry, I've got a zipable compartment in my bag and the passport fits in there, so it'll be nice and safe :) xx
