Hi all.. My question is how much weight should you lose. I started CD a month a go my start weight was 12 stones.. Bmi was 27.my cdc put my goal down to 10.4 bmi 23.i hav been that weight before and stil a size 14. Would like to b size 12 weigh 9.4 bmi 21 .woulda that b ok.is a healthy bmi not 20 to 25. Ive been told bmi 23 is the lowest you should go. Wil my cdc let me loose more than the set goal..has anyone else gone below bmi 23.thanks

It depends on your build, age, bmr and body fat percentage.

Have a read of this link (that I picked up elsewhere on the site).

http://www.bmi-calculator.net/body-fat-calculator/body-fat-chart.php

It gives you a slightly more scientific way to calculate a healthy goal weight based on all of the above. If you have a play about with their calculators putting your own stats in you should be able to see whether the goal you want is actually realistic for you.

Incidentally are you sure about those sizes? I am 5" shorter than you, weigh 10 stone 3 as of today (which is your CDC's goal for you) and am a size 10 bottom size 14 top (cos I have big boobs......)

At the end of the day your goal should be when you feel comfortable with yourself, and never mind what the scales say. Even BMI is acknowledged to not be a particulary accurate way of judging health, it's just that so far nobody has invented a better one! :)
