Smiley's diary

I have been on and diets for as long as I can remember. Tried a lot of them, but can never stick to any. Thought I would give up on 'dieting' and just try and change my habits. If there is not so much pressure on myself to stick to a diet I might actually do better. I need to stop obsessing as much so I'm going to try and cut down my portions of the things we normally eat and move more. Simple!!

The meals I cook are usually quite healthy, I have a toddler so they have to be, but I'm a big snacker... and not of fruit!

Anyway, as from tomorrow I shall be recording what I eat & how I feel in here. I know part of my problem is eating when I'm bored once little one is in bed so will have to figure that one out!

Hey good luck with your weightloss. I am the same- it the evenings that i have found difficult as i eat when i am bored. I have found that being on here in the evenings is helping with that. x

Heya I hope that everything goes well.
I think snacking is most people's downfall. you should try replacing crisps with raisins or something like that.
Best wishes.

Thank you both :) I think being on here will become quite addictive, hopefully saving me from munching :cool:

I've done quite well so far today but my mum has the little one overnight tonight and that usually means a few drinks and she's also bringing a curry, only that she's made with a jar of sauce. If I just have a smaller portion it should be ok. I suppose its better than me going to the chippy when I'm tipsy!

B= 3 crackerbread, philledelpia light, cucumber, cup of tea
L= 2 white bread, small amount of extra light mayo, ham and sprinkle of cheese (didn't butter it and didn't even notice the difference :)), multigrain cracker/crisp things
D= Homepride chicken curry & white rice
S= Coffee, fruit

Shall try my best to keep off the wine tonight!!

Well I'm not doing too well. Boyfriend isn't home from work yet, was going to wait for him to eat curry but kind of cheated and had a bit of the juice with a piece of bread & marg!! .....Thats not the end of it... I'm on my 1st cider :break_diet:

Day one as well, I suppose I've done better than usual though because as well as everything I've mentioned I'd usually have snacks of crisps & huge chunks of cheese

Off to have a nose through everybody elses diaries for inspiration 7 to keep me out of the kitchen!!

Oh well, you're allowed the odd treat now n then. You should stock some healthy mini snack type things to munch on if you ahve to wait for dinner. I think it's quite important not to let yourself get too hungry, coz that's when you generally binge.

Best wishes.

Thanks Pink, thats what I need to do, saying that though my fruit bowl is the fullest its ever been :D

Had a shocking 3 or 4 days. It was the boyfriends birthday, not for 1 day but for 4!! So I have been extremely naughty and had far too much alcohol and loads of junk food. It isn't anybody elses birthday until October now so that gives me a good while to behave myself!!

Today hasn't been great but getting back into things:
B= x2 white toast with marg, cup of tea
S= Multigrain snack thingies
L= x6 crackers, 3 with edam, 3 with phillidelphia light
D= Chicken chasseuer with boiled pots and mushy peas. Bite of boyfriends trifle

2lbs off!! I'm quite pleased with that after my really bad long weekend! Thinking about it though I did try and cut down my portions especially when we were eating really bad stuff!!

Oooo its just the push I needed :)

Will check back in later to update what I have eaten, it's going good so far so hopefull I'll have a good day!

Yesterday when I got home there was a leaflet for weight watchers with free registration and free meeting so I went. I'm now a weight watchers girl  I needed to do something as I have no willpower going it alone. Knowing that someone will be weighing me will hopefully keep me on track. Feel super motivated this morning and want a really good week.

On the ww scales though I was 12st 4lb...

Hey hey! You're doing so well, well done!
Don't worry about the ww scales, although they're probably the more accurate weight you've still lost, think how much they would have said if you hadn't have lost those lbs so far! Scales are only really to tell you if you're going up or down in weight, the actual weight that they show doesn't matter as much.
Maybe you should take measurements of yourself? That's always a good way to see where you're losing the weight from.
Best wishes. Hope that you enjoy WW.

Thanks Pink

Not doing too good to be honest, a 1lb on this week, haven't stuck to the ww at all since I joined. I just can't seem to stick to a plan, there have been an awful lot of birthdays this month and when there is cake or wine I just can't resist

Think I may have had my 'lightbulb' moment today. Although I've always been overweight I knew how to hide it well, & my face isn't fat iyswim?! so I kinda got away with it. Today though I have felt like a frumpy old lady, not a yummy mummy 27 year old.

I have today done 40 crunches, some push ups & bounced on the trampet for 3 mins.......not a lot but better than I would usually................should probably put this wine down :(:(

Hey there Kylie! Don't beat yourself up! When I first got onto doing my diet properly I was exactly the same! I reckon it takes some time to get into it properly and be strict with yourself. One thing I'd majorly recommend is looking at getting the 5 a day and 6-8 glasses of water in, cause this is speeding my metabolism up like mad!
Don't deny yourself a glass of wine or 2! Maybe you could think about doing it every 2 days just to start to ween off it? That's what I did with my late night chocolate/cake/ETC! habit, and it's worked a treat! Now I dont have any at all!!! :D
Good luck girl, your doing really well so far!! xxxx

Heya hun, bah dont worry about not sticking to the plan 100%, you still lost weight!!!

What I've done is to make a collage of the reaaaaaaaaally unflattering pictures of myself that my *ahem* lovely friends put up on facebook and then put pictures of clothes I'd love to be able to wear or celebs I'd love to look like up. It helps me bear in mind what I'm doing this for.

And yeh I agree with Aimee, by drinking loads of water (or squash, it only has like 3 cals a glass, the double concentrate orange one from asda is nice.) and by snacking in fruit it really does fill you up and stops you from snacking so much.

Maybe you could drink spirtsers with soda water or low cal lemonade? That'd cut down the cals and you'd still get to have a 'glass of wine'.

Best wishes hun.

Hey Kylie, how're you doing? We've not heard from you in a while! :) xx
