Activity Points

Can someone just remind me about Activity Points, if I remember right, any you've gained you can either use or save them if you want a quicker weight loss. Is that correct?
 
It doesn't 100% mean you will have a quicker weight loss, you are only allowed to save 4 points a day... however the maximum amount of AP's your allowed to eat is 12 for the week
