Measuring oatbran

Help! I dont have a tablespoon, what other measurement is there, how about grams, how many grams of oat meal in a tablespoon??

I hate these conversations!! Over here, it's a "soupspoon". And my tablespoons are FAR bigger than my soupspoons (so I was surprised when I saw "tablespoon" in the English version of the book), so I'm sitting firmly on the fence!

3 teaspoons, wow thats more like a dessert spoon then, Our table spoons are much bigger too

Tablespoon - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I didnt read enough, "Victorian & Edwardian tablespoons used in the UK are often 25 ml or sometimes larger". I just use a dessertspoon, maybe thats not enough. But that would be about the same as a soupspoon?
Gah not helpful if the same book is used in the UK, australia and the US when they all have different spoon sizes.

I don't think it's that much of a problem to be honest...

But it's a question which regularly comes up on the French and English forums I use...

So it is 3 teaspoons, wish I had tried making a galette again, that porridge was such a waste of time, May try soaking it overnight next time. I love porridge when its cold outside

the porridge takes load of milk to make it actually resemble a meal lol

and don't forget that the milk is part of the dairy allowance... I know you don't eat much other dairy, Vicky, but I have seen quite a few yoghurts recently... up to 3 muller lites a day on one post... add that to porridge and it'd be getting near the limit!

Whenever someone stagnates, the first step is always to cut back on dairy, and weight loss usually then restarts, so good not to OD the dairy...

I thought 0% yogurt/fromage blanc/skimmed milk was unlimited? It is on the list I have...

I have one portion of the above (not milk very often though) at every meal/snack. Sometimes, I'll have 2 yogurts if I'm still hungry although that's rare. Is that too much?

In attack yes, Laura, dairy is unlimited... not once on Cruise but it's still very generous at a litre (never ever eaten all that!)

Do you all know that? Or if it's something "omitted" in English (and it's probably not in the French book either which is also weak on detail)? I don't know how I know that - but it's on today's chat on the official website, for instance

Phew!

Don't think I'll ever hit a litre either, not until I can eat cheese anyway.

Dont start on about cheese again lol, I havent seen any mention in my book yet of dairy amounts on attack or cruise, it just says unlimited non fat yougurts on attack then for cruise it says all on the attack list plus these veg... I dont think I could manage a litre though

Yes I think the restriction came after the French book, ie on the coaching... and then when whoever translated the book...

The dairy adds up quickly when some have porridge with, say, 1/4L milk... maybe a couple of (HUGE) Mullers... and a flan in the evening...

250 + 400 + 150 = 800 (not far off)

First question on "chat" today on home page of Dukan site:

TSOMPOPE : Hello everybody, May I drink 1,5% fat milk or yoghurt if i cant find 0%. thank you tsompope

  • hannah : Hi TSOMPOPE, Thank you for your question. Yes for dairy products as a general rule if you cannot find 0% then you can eat/ products up to 2-3% fat. Do not eat more than a total of 1kg of dairy products a day.Enjoy!
