How to get out of "diet mode"?

I've been dieting on and off for as long as I can remember, and although I am loving SW, I still have a little bit of the diet mentality. For example, I've been putting off having SW chips because WI day is coming up and it feels too treaty. Same with sweetcorn fritters - it just sounds bad. I'm also trying to restrict things (on a red day, if I only have one heA and one heB I feel like I've been "good").

I really would like to treat this is a way of life. Do I need to work towards getting rid of these sorts of thoughts, or will they just go of their own accord (I've only been doing this for a week and a half)?

I'm the same and I have rarely even dieted in the old fashioned sense of the word. What I'd say is make sure you at LEAST have your Healthy Extras, but you don't have to have syns, it'll make sure you follow SW for longer if you allow yourself 5-15 per day though :)

if i were you, id do another week of how you're going now and then try and start having all your HE's and at least 10 syns a day, if you dont want to use them on choccies/crisps/wine, you can use them on ingredients in your meals, ie. extra cheese on your pasta, tbsp of olive oil, etc :) you might find you have a better loss! if you start off having no/little syns you wont have anything to cut back on if you come to a weight plateau. i hope that helps, please dont be afraid to have your HE's and your syns - they're a part of the plan, trust SW it really does work!! xx

You really do need to change they way that you think about the SW plan Hun as you are missing out on things!
You should have your HeB if nothing else as the plan has been balanced out for you to have the fibre.
The only thing that I do differently before weigh in, is that I never have an EE or Green day, saying that however, I had an EE day yesterday, I weigh this evening and Im fine with whatever the result.
Dont ever deprive yourself otherwise you are more likely to give in to temptations.
Re-read your books and follow it to the letter...just trust in the SW plan Hun, it really does work!

This most certainly is not a diet in the conventionally understood sense of the word. It is a healthy eating plan.

If you're doing red/green - do not deny yourself the second HeA/HeB if you're hungry/need them. On the same note - i wouldn't force one down "just to stay on plan". Enjoy the food on offer. Enjoy eating till you are full.

And yes - there will be a time when food optimising will become the norm for you. How long that'll be - who knows. I probably got to that point after 4 or 5 months - but didn't realise it till 8 months into my journey (I know for a fact it was a year ago last Sunday - as my realisation point was at my brother's wedding reception - when i chose (and was surprised to do so) not to have anything from the buffett table as "that isn't how i eat anymore").
