How much better is water than other syn free drinks?

Im asking because since joining SW I have swapped my full fat coke/pepsi for pepsi max and Really light Ribena. However after my first weight gain (TBH was due to slacking for too long) I decided that I needed to drink more water. However, Im not a big fan of water and what Im wondering is how much better is water for me than other syn free drinks.

For the last few days Ive drank nothing but water (although on Sun I did have an options hot choc) with a can of pepsi max after my tea. Ive tried to drink half a litre at least a day. Am I doing the right thing or would I be ok to have the odd Really light Ribena or any other syn free drink?

Thanks

The important thing is you have enough FLUIDS it doesnt have to be water, theres absolutely no harm in having Syn free squash. Water on its own isnt going to speed up your weight loss. Cutting down on fizzy drinks will maybe make you less bloated but really if youre not a fan of water dont worry, just make sure your fluid intake is adequate :)

That said water will be better for you than squash or soft drinks just because you're not getting all the other additives that they contain.

And its ideal to drink 2lts a day.
Dont forget about the caffeine in cola etc etc, its ok in moderation so dont feel guilty!

Hi there i cant drink any water as it makes me gag but i do drink alot of sugar free squash instead. and i never drank fizzy drink before and abit worried it would slow my loses if i did start silly i know.

I don't drink water either - our tap water isn't particularly pleasant, and I can't stand bottled water, so I have no-added sugar squash. I don't think it's harmed my weight loss so far :)

I was reading one of my mum's real-life magazines the other day, and it said that in the UK the minimum we needed to drink each day was 1.2 litres to prevent dehydration :) xx
