Hello! Total newbie to the world of weight loss support forums and well, weight loss hehe.
On a mission to loose 40 pounds, BMI is just hitting obese and at nineteen I want to change that now whilst its easier to do so, I used to be a size 8 but after many trips to nandos my weight went to 11 and a half stone :( I have tried many fad diets, none worked and I now realise that I want to make this a life long commitment instead of shedding loads of weight in a month and gaining it all back on again in a few months time. Im aiming to loose 1-2 pounds a week.
My new "healthy" living consists of a LOT less calories a day, but a lot more food, healthier food, I now eat three meals a day, but the total calories adds up to the max 800 (something I need to increase but finding it hard as my stomach must have shrunk).
I then use the WONDERFUL wii at night, I use the "my fitness coach" which I recommend to anybody, I burn anything from 100-250 calories a night on that.

Basically signed up to here to gain motivation as I often loose that and gain all the weight and more back on!

Hi Jade!

I've just signed up myself and wanted to say hello. I wish I only had 40 lbs to lose... I have about 107lbs to go lol!
I swear by the Wii to squeeze in some exercise too!
I started on Friday and have lost 8lbs already which is insane but I already feel slightly better about myself. I'm only 22, so in a similar age group to yourself but want to look and dress a bit more like a 22 year old should! It's rubbish how skinny most 18- 25 year old women seem to be eh?
Well hope this site works for both of us and we get what we want out of life!

Karen xoxo

Hello and :welcome2:

You are right about it being a lifelong commitment , its more a life style change rather than some fad diet that gives cheap quick results that never last !
You sound so motivated which is good !
Good luck on your weight loss journey ! :)

Just stopped eating far too much of very bad yummy things lol and started Zumba! I love it. Tell me about it, my best friend is a size 8, 5' 10, beautiful model lol...I love her, though the envy makes it a struggle! She's doing fashion so I know the kind of people you'll be surrounded by!

The only reason I've lost so much is because I have so much to lose. It will slow down but I'm going to stay motivated!

well you seem to be doing great, well done! that is fab, my scales got wet in the bathroom so i have no idea how much weight i have lost in the first week, better go get myself some soon, don't think i have lost any though, im on 800ish calories a day, burning 200ish a night on the wii, i hope i see some result! have you replaced the yummy food with yummy calorie low food? hehe xxxx

Of course...I actually really like healthy food so I'm lucky! I just like food in general lol!
How are you managing on your current plan? That's quite low calorie once you deduct your extra exercise ones you burn! Make sure and look after yourself, there's no point being skinny when your too washed out to enjoy it lol! xoxo

Haha! Im doing well, I brought myself lots of good food, low calories, and for some reason, they TOTALLY fill me up, I need to eat 1200 calories a day to stay safe, but I cant fit more than the 800 in, or I feel sick, not sure whats happened, maybe my stomach has shrunk haha but its a real struggle, which is something i never thought i would have a problem with! The exercise sometimes i just want to stay in bed, but i push myself to go do it and feel tons better after i do!

I know what you mean about healthy filling foods! I was amazed how full up I was after a salad lol. Can't wait till my stomach shrinks! That means it's working. I'm not doing too much exercise this week, I'm going to step it up on Friday so hopefully I can have 2 impressive weeks, loss wise! Exercise is amazing though isn't it? It totally energises you, I wish I'd realised sooner.

Definatly, I eat such lovely food now too, so much nicer than the old stuff, even the curry (low calorie one) is nicer than the one high in calories! me too i just hope i stick to it all, i often loose motivation after a month, but im sure if i see some results that will be the motivation! xx

That's it! Once you see a difference or fit into something again it restarts your motivation. I just wonder how long it will take for it to be noticeable for me. I'm going to start taking photo's every Friday so I can compare them as I go!

I prefer the healthier curry sauces too lol, we had tesco light choice sweet and sour tonight...I don't usually like sweet and sour but it was lovely and very low in cals and fat. I also persuaded my husband to have it veggie instead of chicken so saved some more cals/fat there too!

Just wish I could make the rice better for me!

Having a very weight-loss themed day as just watched The Biggest Loser USA too lol...I'm obsessed!

xoxo

hi there jade s:)
it's all going great for me at the mo.
i am feeling more motivated than i have done in a long while:D
the lovely people on this forum are definately helping me stay focused.
doing similar to you, trying to eat good healthy food, and leave out the rubbish!
gonna weigh on friday and see how i'm doing numbers wise,(bought some new scales and found out i weighed 2 lb more than i thought:cry:)
so my starting point is 20 stones and 2 lbs,but i'm trying not to let the numbers get to me,as i know it's all about how i feel, and really changing my dependence on food for good.
and as a friend on here said to me,"the scales will not say that number again!!"
sounds like you're getting your head in the right place too:)
here's to feeling good about ourselves again.:D

Good, glad its going well! I am in need of new scales, my ones got wet and no longer work :-( but looking around at reviews on scales so many seems unreliable, adding extra pounds or taking them away! That is a great saying! I am also doing it the old fashioned way of how baggy my clothes get hehe xxx

hey jade.s:)
dont know if it's any help'but i was using dial scales that only went up in increments of about two pound(and which were hard to see and could change by a pound or two depending on what angle you looked at them from,ha ha!!!)
i have replaced them with some homedics digital ones, which seem to be spot on,and dont say something different every time you stand on them!they also measure all kinds of other things too, bmi, water etc(but i havent done any of that yet,as i was a bit peaved to find the extra 2 lb the day they arrived, checked that they stayed the same a few times then, and thought i wont look again till i'm sure i've got rid of some!!)
i found some really good reviews about them on here, and i found them for £16.95 on amazon!!result!:D
i'm sure there are lots of good scales out there though.
keep smiling.we will do this!:)
