just had a phone call from hospital about my knee, and got to go in for operation on friday. i thought i had weeks to go. before it was done. so its rather thrown me.

i thought i would be a little more way down to the ww journey. I not allowed to leg bare for 6 weeks so that 6 weeks on cruthes, lucking this weight around. and scared i will turn to food. for comfort.

work didnt react to good either and put phone down on me. so not in a good place

do you really care about what work think? Its your health or your job, and work can make you ill so forget about them.

You need to exercise your mind when your laid up rather than turn to food :D Jigsaws and books :giggle: you will be fine as long as you just keep strong.

Ah (((hugs))) know you must feel fed up but shabbas right, work are cross as they have to give you time off , just stick at ww you should still see a loss even if you can't move much, maybe be really careful to have your set ww points after you come out hospital and see what scales say , it's best to maintain or lose a little than to gain a stone
Hope everything goes ok ok Hun xxx

Sorry to hear about your op, but as others say don't worry about your work your health is more important:) Do you read, knit, crochet or even make cards to keep your hands busy . Or even come on here all day lol :D

good luck with the op, u can always try doing some sit ups keeping ur legs straight, not ideal but least ur belly will get a work out, are there no hobbies u do like cardmaking or jewellery making that u can do to keep ur mind off food, both very relaxing too

Lynda hunny, ((((((((((((((((((((((((((lots of hugs)))))))))))))))))))))
have to say that was an awful approach from your work, thats not very compassionate at all, and with the way waiting lists in the NHS are at the moment, you get given a date you have to take it, and cancellations and surgeons lists can quite often make it quite last minute.
Dont worry about the weight hunny it will still come off, the main thing you got to think about is looking after yourself and recovering in the early days.
plus, using crutches and not weight bearing for 6 weeks is aerobic activity in itself!... youll have arms to die for :)

when you are allowed to put weight thru it you could start gently, maybe swimming or something? youll have physio input i should imagine?

and the great thing with ww is, you dont need to exercise... my leader went from a size 16 to about an 8-10 (shes tiny now)... and she maintains that she did not do any exercise. It took her about a year... she looks amazing now....
I think youll drop the weight off even without exercising.

Stay positive hunny... we will look after you!!!! xx

Hey don't worry hun, though i think it was terrible that your work hung up on you. Just concentrate on getting better after the op and you can still lose weight without exercise, like said above stick to your set point allowance and you should be ok xx

Hi Plonks, sorry to hear that your work weren't very supportive, but like others have said don't worry about them, just concentrate on your recovery.

Try to think of things to occupy your mind instead of food, like some good books if you like reading.

All the best for your op, I hope everything goes well.

Sorry to hear about your impending operation PLonks. That is terrible of your job to react like that - your health is your wealth (after all). They should know that.

Regarding WW and being off your feet - once you stick to your points you should be okay (I think). I haven't been exercising that much since my operation and have maintained my weight (really).
