Weight not moving?

I haven't cheated at all but my weight hasn't changed for days.
I'm a bit baffled?
The only thing is that I've probably only been having about 1.5l of water the last couple of days (as been places where it's not readily available). Could that be the reason??

I'm new to this also but I've noticed quite a few constantly weighing themselves and beating themselves up over it. I think staying away from the scales every day is every bit the same challenge as staying away from the food. Try and keep the weighing to a weekly process that way you'll get a bigger boost as oppossed to beating yourself up throughout the week. Just try and remember how long it has actually taken to put the weight on and remember that if LT is adhered to fully then you'll have it all off in a fraction of the time.

We're into August tomorrow, that's the 8th month of the year, hard to believe how quickly the year has gone in as you haven't really thought about what date it is every day, try to apply that to your LT experience. Concentrate solely on your weigh-in at the pharmacy and nothing else and remember, stick to it and you WILL lose the weight. A small loss one week may well lead to a bigger one the week after and when you add it all together it's quite substancial. In 2 weeks you have shifted the equivalent of 6 bags of sugar from your body. That's a tremendous weight.

I've my 1st weigh-in on Monday, I hope I do as well as you have.

Thanks! I've tried very hard no to weigh myself so often but it doesn't work...I even god my scales but I just can't do it!
I will try not to put so much pressure on seeing the scales moving down constantly but it's going to be very very hard!!

You've already lost 5 1/2 st in the past so to me your a massive inspiration already, you'll get through it again I'm sure. It's early days but already I've found that all of a sudden I'm the most popular man alive with everyone inviting me out for a pint ! I'm feeling fine so far but no doubt things will get hard and that's what on here is for. Your Hubby doesn't understand what's going on, just ignore him and get on here 1st before doing anything silly.

Hi Lisaberry

I'm a bit like you I weigh myself everyday before I hop into the shower! I know very bad habit but it keeps me motivated. However I got on this morning and put on half pound. It's true though to get an accurate weight its best to weigh yourself once a week in the pharmacist that gives a reading which is true. As long as its roughly the same time of day each week and you wear the same clothes. But you have been doing fantastic so far so keep it up.

Ps please ignore my spelling. I'm blaming the iPhone... It has a habit of auto correcting to what it thinks it should be!

I'm certainly no inspiration. Last time feels like a lifetime ago...if anything it's making things harder as I was at goal by now this time and I can't help but beat myself up that I'm not there again.

Oh Lisaberry don't be like that

They say the average loss a week is 4lbs so your on target at the moment. Don't beat yourself up. It's a long journey for us all.

You're already a 5th of the way there in a fortnight, you'll get there soon enough.

Hi Lisa I am just the same am always getting on the scales but I have learnt not to get worried. A lot of the time if weight loss slows down it is due to fluid retention. What you need to work out is why this is happening? Usually it is because your body is holding on because there is not enough fluid being drunk or there is too much and the kidneys cannot keep up so the body stores it. In your case it sounds like you have not consumed enough or totm.

I know it is difficult to avoid the scales and I would be a hypocrit if I told you to but please try not to let it bother you just rely on the weekly wi at the chemist xx

if you weigh throughout the week(or the day in my case!lol) just understand that your weight will vary greatly, water is heavy! but the fat is going, a bit of water retention here and there is nothing, as long as you dont let the numbers dishearten you... personally i love weighing several tiumes a day and seeing how it changes, gibves me a good understanding of it.... dont fret..

Yeah, weighing myself as often as I do means I am aware of how the scales go up and down during the day. I'm sure I remember seeing on Dave Gorman's 'genius' one bloke who invented shoes that were scales so you could always have your weight in front of you- I need those lol!

Still, I would have expected there to be a bit of a change after the first wee of the day weigh in!!
I've just taken 2 dulcolax.... That had better do something!!!!!

I feel like crying this morning.
Dulcolax have done their thing and I am now up half a pound. So since Thursday I have put on weight.
How is that possible??? I haven't cheated or anything. I just don't get it.

It has to be water. on 500calories a day and the whole whole LT science there is no way that that you could put on any fat... "weight is just a number" you must be holding water for some reason and i really would try not to let it stress you out, your body must be holding it for a reason at th moment, when its done with its need it wil let it go... it seems to be really getting you down so my best advice would be (and i know its bloody hard so i dont say it lightly) stay off the scales.... drink plenty of water, stick to the plan to the letter... these reglar weigh ins are upsetting you so dont do them.... i hope that helps you a little, please dont get disheartened...

But my feet and the scales seem to have magnets in them!!!!
Still, I've been reading lots of old posts etc this morning and it does seem that many people have a week or two when nothing comes off and then all of a sudden it comes off again.
I've got 16 days until I have to have 2 days off (where I intend to stick to pure protein) so I will try and keep the faith until then!

Right, now someone get bloomin Bon Jovi out of my head now please!

Lash the scales out the window, problem solved. Can't you give them to someone to take for a while. If you want to then weigh yourself you'll have to do it in a public place which always puts me off.
