Eating more

Ok i only started sw yesterday (joined wed eve).
I'm having trouble getting my head around how it works. I am following the EE plan at the mo and i am eating more now than i did before. Surely thats not gonna help me lose weight?

Plus i had 6 syns yesterday, is that an ok amount to have? Scared of having any more

6 Syns is fine to have - have between 5 and 15 each day :)

I eat a lot more now than I did before, but I'm eating healthy foods, not big slabs of chocolate. The type of food you're eating now will help you lose weight, as well as leaving you satisfied and not hungry. Believe in it, it works :)

Hiya, I also joined up on Wednesday eve and am following EE- I felt like I was eating all day yesterday! But I wasn't really ever that hungry and I definitely had my five a day of fruit and veg, so I think it's just that we're eating the right things. I've decided not to worry too much about how it works and just go with it :) Good luck!

Just go with the flow Hun. As long as you are eating the right things and drinking plenty of water, you will see a loss come weigh in day!
There is one thing that I have learnt and thats not to question the plan, it works and thats all that matters to me!

:)

It's not how much you eat, but what you eat. You might be eating more, but i bet it's a lot healthier (and lower calorie) then what you would eat previously. Looking at everyone around, SW does work :) So just enjoy losing weight without going hungry! :D

Just take a look at everyones losses on here!
It feels like your eating loads at the beginning but i think after a few weeks this settles down - Good luck x

One thing I would say is trust yourself to have your syns, they are in for a reason and I personally couldnt live without mine. Enjoy your syns and embrace the plan it really does work.

Trust us, you will love SW :)

Good luck with your journey.

Scoff, scoff, scoff is my way on SW. Its worked so far. I couldn't believe it myself in my first week-I lost 4.5 lbs. Its liberating.

My tips would be;
-Don't deprive yourself, have something you want every day
-Load up on a healthy hearty breakfast.
-If you work at an office don't take your wallet to work and keep a full fruit bowl at your desk (esp helpful when people bring in the dreaded cakes).
-Drink plenty of water.
-Excercise. The best thing I have done is combine excercise with dieting. I have changed shape totally. You need to find something that you enjoy. I discovered Jazzercise and made some brilliant friends.
-If you fall off the wagon one day-dont write the rest of the week off. Get back on it.

You can do it. You will fall in love with your body as you notice the changes. I have lost 42lbs so far and I am loving my body more and more each day.

Believe in yourself and everyone else will believe in you. Enjoy the compliments when they come and remember them when you are having a bad day when all you want to do is drink that bottle of wine and eat a whole block of stilton! (or whatever your poison may be.)

told you you'd start thinking that!!!! hahahaha!!!!

The idea behind how it works is that the foods you are allowed to eat unlimited portions of are dense enough that you will fill up quicker and low enough in calories and fat that it won't pack on the pounds. You might eat more often but that's good because you are taking in less calories and eating more often will keep your body from going into starvation mode and holding on to it's fat stores. You are tricking your body into letting go of the fat because you are never hungery so it figures food is in abundance so it doesn't need to hold onto it. I insisted on finding out how it worked when I joined too. I wouldn't accept the fact that people were just losing weight from it, I wanted to know why. Hope that helps.

Brilliant post! The only thing I'd add is prepare, know what you're going to have for the following days breakfast, lunch, and dinner so you're not tempted by quick 'rubbish'.

I write my weeks food plan in advance, and then pin it to my fridge with a pen on a string,

That way I have my basic week planned e.g lunch, dinner etc, and I can also add in my syns as I go and my extras, e.g hi-fi bar or cereal, milk/babybels depending on how much time I have in the morning before work, or if I need to grab and go.
