Hi,
I haven't been on here in ages and I barely posted threads so I'm going to have a proper rant now LOL, but there's a possibility of a holiday now in august so i'd like to lose some weight so maybe i could wear a bikini :O. About a month ago I finally reached an ideal bmi which i'm really happy about, so I thought if I lose 2lbs every week for the next four then that's 8 pounds gone before holiday. But i keep thinking, will 8lbs even make a considerable difference and plus I started using my exercise dvd again which I use regularly anyway but I look in the mirror and I just look like I've put weight on I don't know if it's just me though :/ I used this dvd tuesday and yesterday and this morning I just don't have the energy but I think that if I don't do it I won't get the loss I want, if I did this dvd 3 times a week would doing in more make much difference? I really don't know the point in this thread to be honest I think I just want someone to tell me I'm being silly LOL ah well at least I'm ranted it out.

When you are at your ideal BMI, well done by the way:happy096:...losing 8lbs will make a big difference as you are taking more from less and the lower your weight the more difficult it is to lose as your body wants to hold onto what is left. So 2lb a week might be a bit ambitious.

Perhaps all you really need is to add a little more exercise to your daily routine to help you tone up...a lot can be achieved in four weeks.

Why not use the dvd on alternatives days to give your body a rest and do something else in between like walking or swimming...this way it keeps your interest up while working different areas of your body.

I know this sounds harsh but mate, if you aren't motivated, you won't do it!

Losing weight is HARD- you have to really want it, and not just for some temporary quick fix- this is the road to yo-yo dieting.

I think you need to have a real think about your life and how your weight affects it. If you can learn to be happy as you are then that is a really positive thing that you should concentrate on that and learn not to make comparisons or yearn for something that you will never achieve- get comfirtable in your own skin

If you feel that your weight impedes you life and/or happiness and really truly WANT to change then you have to battle and fight and strive to achieve that- however the benefits and rewards will make it worth a million times the effort required.

Good luck

Ahh so not fair that it goes slower LOL but i suppose i should just stick to it and whatever weight goes, goes. As long as I loose maybe just a little bit then to feel more confident. And yeah that's a good idea, i keep meaning to get one of those twist and tone boards so might so that. Thankyou this had made me feel alot better, plus looking back on when i have done slimming world i tend to be successful at it anyway and that's without exercise like i lost 12lbs last summer and i wasn't even that strict, so i suppose i should just think positive and obviously the weight won't drop off that quick now, but thankyou :)

Yeah it's fine but when i said unmotivate din the title I just meant today waking up, but it's probably because I'm still tired so I suppose I could always exercise later in the day. I am motivated to stick to the sw eating because i find it easy to do.
But yeah I would feel much comfortable loosing a bit more weight but I do feel alot more comfortable and confident in myself now after loosing some over time.
And yeah this is true whenever I exercise I just think of that bikini body I could have and it keeps me going haha.
Thanks :)

You are not being silly Hun. We all have days like this so you are certainly not alone.
One thing I find helps me to keep motivated, is to plan ahead. Whether its for the week or the following day I will always know what Im having and prepare food in advance for work.
Think about how far you have come. Think about how you felt when your BMI was achieved.
Try something different in the way of exercising. Sometimes if you stick to the same things you can get bored and it becomes a chore rather than enjoyment. Try putting music on loud and dancing around the lounge, or even going up and down the stairs in time to the music.

I hope you get your mojo back soon Hun.

Thanks I can't plan ahead with food that much because I change my mind but I do with exercise but this post definitely helped thanks :) Yeah I should get another dvd really to swap between the two but I know the one I use works :L i don't find it too boring either it's just actually turning it on and starting that's the problem haha.
Thanks me too LOL :)

Maybe you should sit down and write a list- I know this is a bit of a cliche but it really helps me when I get de-motivated.

Write down all the things that are bad about losing weight: e.g. The fact that you can't eat what you want, you may have to compromise when socialising, it's harder work to cook from scratch, etc

Then write all the things that are positive about being slimmer: e.g. you can do activities you never would have before, you can try on clothes without feeling enormous, you will feel sext and confident, you will feel in control of your eating etc

Really think it through- keep that list to hand to remind yourself constantly that although there are hard things about this, the positives are endless.

Good luck:D
