Show me the money!

Hi peeps!
Just thought I'd share what I can now call a fairly amusing story! Last week, I had to order/collect £3.5K from the bank. My usual cashier placed it in an A4 brown envelope, which by the time it folded down, could fit in my handbag, but only zip halfway across. I got home, had clients show up 20mins early for their appointment, so I asked them to wait in my office for a mo' until I let the dogs out to the garden for a wee! Chucked my bag on the dining room table, covered it with my jacket. About 20mins later, friends had arrived, client had just left, so I brought them through to the lounge, finding a piece of brown paper just as we reach the bar! I looked out to the garden, and 3.5k was scattered in £20notes over the grass!!!:eek: My heart totally stopped! Benson has had this habit just recently of taking post-it notes or envelopes out my office bin, shredding them into bits, and placing in neat piles! He never chews anything else (not even as a pup). Barney, would chew (+eat) many things if given the opportunity, but luckily he was more interested in a fabulous twig he'd found! My friends and I frantically gathered the notes, and believe it or not, only 5 were ripped up, but all able to be taped together (albeit in many bits with some!). Benson, only really wanted the envelope, not the money inside. He seems to like the gum on the post-its/envelopes. Neither of them, in almost 4yrs of having them, have ever taken anything off the table. Plus, I guess I never usually dump my bag there either, so perhaps I'd put too much temptation his way?! All I know, is I am soooooo glad it wasn't windy or raining that day!!! My neighbours would have loved me otherwise!!! Lesson learnt - oh I think so!!!

OMG:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

Thing was, Jane - the money wasn't for me, it was for my OH to pay builders, etc!!!! I thought he would have gone mental when he came in (just as we were taping the notes back together) but he thought it was quite funny (only after he knew ALL the money was safe!). Our house is so minimal, with nothing lying around, so it was kinda ironic that when I did chuck something down, it was demolished by a naughty beagle! Maybe it was a sign to remind me never to fall into messy house syndrome! If only a photo had been taken!!

Dont you just love em!!! Sarahxx.
