Returning to class

Onwards and downwards!
Hi all,

I am thinking about returning to class after falling off the wagon big time! But I really don't want to go back to the same class as before because I hated it and the people were really unfriendly, hence why I stopped attending and tried going it alone. The going it alone has worked up to a point and I have lost some weight, but it is starting to creep back on again after a bad couple of weeks. I think if I start classes again that will help keep me on plan and motivate me more. Hopefully.....:cross:

Anyway, I have found a class which is slightly further from home but from the councellors 'blurb' bit on the SW website she sounds much nicer and more motivational than my old C. I don't know how switching classes works, should I just turn up there tomorrow night or should I ring first or something? I haven't been to a class in a while but I do have the card thingy so will that have all my details on it and make it easier to switch?

I feel like I'm starting SW all over again and feeling a bit nervous about the new class! Eek :fear:

Hi emily

Well done for taking the first steps to getting back on track! Sorry to hear your last class was a bit naff. Personally whenever I'm joining something new I always phone ahead to double check times and give the organiser some warning that a newbie is going to be arriving. I don't know if you actually have to do this for SW, I think it's personal choice hun.

Good luck!! xxxx

Hey Emily, congratulations for deciding to get back on the plan.

Personally, if you have been away a long time, I would start completely afresh. New book, new membership. Otherwise they will try and bill you for all the missing weeks. If you can afford to pay the back weeks, then continue as before but otherwise its going to be cheaper for you to start afresh.

well just give it a try :)

I actually don't get very much out of my group..... maybe that's because it's a lunch time pop in group, all we do is go there and get weighed, and then catch the consultant if she's not busy explaining things to newbie, otherwise people just leave. maybe I should look into joining other ones (but they're not close to my office nor my home...) what each group does seem to vary alot, from what I've read from the SW magazines / the SW website / this forum...

heya, good luck at your new class. I changed classes after a year away and used old card but didnt have to pay for the time missed. I only changed as my timetable changed and i was able to go to one nearer to home when i re-joined. You dont have to ring ahead but it might give you an idea of what the consultant is like. Hope you like the new class. I seem to remember i paid less as I already had a card?

xxxx

just to clarify, I used old card but got new book and I didnt pay join up fee as I was already a member (although lapsed). anyways, good luck xxx
