All your posts have been a great inspiration to me ( i really should have logged on before eatin)so hopefully i will see some results on wed (even with the cheating) and will give me a boost to keep at it!

Sorry for being blunt but if you see SW as a diet (Dare I Eat This) then you will always see 'cheating' as a failure. You don't mention what you 'cheated' on! You've only just started, read and re-read your books, read all the hints and tips on here and whatever WI throws at you, draw a line and keep at it xxx

So fess up, how did you cheat? I'll bet that when you look at it with fresh eyes it won't be as bad as you think and can be salvaged with some minor adjustments. And if it really is as bad as you think it is then maybe you will have blown it.

But blown what? The day? Probably. The week? Possibly. But you entire weight loss journey? Definitely no!

I started on Wed, and ate a whole packet of After Eights on Saturday morning (well, it was after 8 - am that is!). I'm not annoyed at myself, because I did it, drew a line under it and carried on. Previously I would have turned it into a whole day of damage, but I wasn't actually hungry (like you would be on some other diets). Don't see yourself as a failure, you just had a blip (or as someone else put it, are taking the scenic route!). Look at why you did it and how you can avoid doing it again, then move on.

Devon-dumpling, I think that when some people start this plan it is as a diet, and there's nothing wrong with calling it that. I find thinking of it as a way of life, even though I know it is, too intimidating - I just want to get through each day until I'm used to what I'm doing before I sign up my life long commitment (which I will!). And I am doing it for weight loss. But I do agree with you that all or nothing is a common dieting attitude that does not help at all (and one I'm very prone to!)...
