I've got an interview in a couple of weeks and not had one for a couple of years and was wondering what the hell to wear! I have a nice navy short sleeved shift dress that I could wear but I don't do jackets or blouses and I don't find them very comfortable....do you think? I don't have any navy shoes, but I do have red shoes and bag that I could take instead?? Help!!!!

What job are you being interviewed for?
If it's an office job you need to be smart and look efficient, if it's for a supermarket say stacking shelves for example then tidy and clean so trousers would suffice. It makes quite a difference to your general outlook what your personal appearance is and will effect the interviewers eventual decision. Very good that you are concerned about getting it right!:)

The job I'm going for is an admin job, I want to appear myself, efficient and be taken seriously but I don't have any jackets as in suit jackets and with the weather being so flipping hot at the moment I think I'd be uncomfortable anyway.

The office I work in at the moment is very casual and alot of the other staff wear jeans and I'm one of the smartest there in trousers and tops most of the time, but I do have a smart A-line navy short sleeved shift type dress.

:D

By the way Emmaline is one of my fave names....if I ever have a little girl that's what I've always wanted to call her. Thought that was quite spooky xxx

Well do hope you get on okay.
It's nice that you have a casual dress code where you are at the moment but it's better to be just a bit more chic at an interview. The outfit you describe sounds great and that's a goodly bit of your presentation the other bit is being confident and I am quite sure you have that well tied up. Good Luck!

P.S.Glad you like the name but of course it's not my real name altho that's quite close to it anyway.:giggle:
