Struggling to get back into it

I was doing really well with exercising and going to the gym. I was going at least 5 times a week. Then I went on holiday and since then it's all gone a bit pear shaped.

First there was the holiday, I did go for a run a couple of times, but that was it.
Then I cracked a rib and I was in agony if I moved in certain ways, or tried to lie down or whatever.
Then I managed an OK-ish week where I went about 3 times, including one PT session. But now my PT is on holiday for 2-3 weeks.
And just to top it all off, I've got a cold that's now turned into bronchitis! Fantastic!

So I keep telling myself that I need to take it a bit easy, but actually I'm now thinking that I'm just back to making excuses, which is how I got so fat and unfit in the first place!

What can I do to get my motivation back? Help!

This can be difficult (as you no doubt know!) :D

Can you rope anyone else you know into joining you? Having someone there will force you to go and do something while you're there.

If not, why not set yourself the challenge of going to the gym and only doing NEW exercises, not ones you already know.
Go roud the machines, asking advice on their use from staff if need be and see if you can devise a new workout based on things you;ve never done before.

It should interest and motivate you sufficiently to get back into things, then you can start incorporating your usual techniques into your new workout, and start rotating workouts, always keeping things fresh and exciting.
