Well, would you believe it!!!! i had my weigh in on tuesday night (20th) after returning from my holiday. I went to brighton to stay with my friends and then on to lincoln to see my family. I had intended to be good the whole time but decided that after 10 quite intense weeks i deserved to have a few treats and to relax a bit. I went out for dinner twice and lunch too. I had pizza and pasta, i had a few drinkies as well and several yummy choccie biscuits. Now, the former carrie would have done this with relish and gone all out but the new me despite having quite a lot of naughty stuff, did it in moderation. I still had diet coke in my drinks and I didnt have desserts or starters when we went out to eat. I also made a conscious effort to do exercise. There were several long walks and we also went swimming. I came back fully expecting to have stayed the same (if I was lucky) or to have gained a couple of pounds and was prepared for this to happen. Well bugger me when i weighed in and had lost 2.5lbs. I was so chuffed :p.

I wanted to post this on here to help others learn what I have in this journey so far.

The first thing is that we are very much in control of our own jourenys and to that end if we make the decison to have a few treats or deviate from the diet we have to take responsibility for the end results. Every action has a reaction! It is important that you evaluate what these reactions may be and decide if it is a reaction you are happy to go with. This leads me onto the next thing that I have learnt. BODY MAGIC IS ESSENTIAL!!!!! It is only the huge amount of walking and swimming that I did on my holiday that allowed me to loose that 2.5lbs. if I hadnt it would have been a very diferent story and I would have probably gained at least twice that amount. It all comes down to the numbers. As long as the number of calories going in is still less than those being used up....you will still loose weight!

This for alot of us is not just about loosing weight but about changing lifelong habbits and learning a whole new lifestyle. I now know that it is still ok to have the things that I enjoy but must then compensate for the naughty bits.

Good luck to you all and best wishes.

You will succeed  xxx
