Hello
I did the cd diet 3 years ago and lost about 4stone unfortunately put 3 of that back on and have been ww for a month but its coming off very slowly
I have an appt with my gp next wednesday to ask about these pills.I weigh 15st 4 and am 5ft6 so fingers crossed my gp is feeling kind :)
I have a few questions if you don't mind me asking

Is it advisable to go low fat for a few days before starting the tablets?

I go out once a month with the girls and tent to drink far too much wine lol, will alcohol give me the side effects? Would hate to get them during a night out lol

Also I am vegetarian,I don't suppose that makes a difference does it?

thanks xx

On the veggy front I'm pretty sure Quorn is low in fat so nothing to worry about there :)

Going low fat first wouldn't cause any harm at all, Xenical only enhances the weight lost by eating a low in fat (which in turn generally means a lower calorie intake) diet. It's not a miracle pill so by starting early you'll only be increasing the amount of time you'll be losing weight over which can only be a good thing right? :D

Hope your appointment with the GP goes as planned.

hi, i don't think it can do any harm eating low fat before starting tablets, it will get you into the swing of things. Like poogatch says they are not a miracle tablet, you will still need your will power. Good luck! xx

Hey, if you are asking your gp about being given xenical they may ask you to lose a little weight 1st, my doctor didn't do this but I know a few people who were asked to lose 4lb on their own before they were prescribed xenical.

I'm a vegetarian and have had no problems at all so far. Quorn is your friend lol I make some very yummy meals using it.

Just to add to what the others have said. Alcohol won't give you any problems with Xenical in terms of side effects, so don't worry about that.
Obviously it contains quite a few calories, so best to save the wine for a treat rather than a daily thing ;) As you'll see, many of us on here enjoy the odd drink or twenty (Kae, KB...I'm talking about you! ;)) but we try to stick to vodka and diet mixers when we can as it's loads lower in calories than beer/cider/wine.

Good luck with your weight loss journey :)

:eek:I was about to get all puffed up with righteous indignation there and sue you for libel but then I remembered it's not libel if it's true...:D
