Gym Addict!!!
Hiya

Im having coffee fetishes at the moment!!!

I know Starbucks to sugar free syrups, however does anyone know if costa do them??

Also if using your HEXA for the milk...are the iced lattes syn free too???

Kate

My C told me that you can't use skimmed milk as a HEXA :( I love my cappuccinos and lattes.

Hi,
I'd imagine you could take 6 syns off this (as long as tall isn't more than 350ml) but they would still be syns. I'm on the hunt for Costa now :)
Hope this helps x

Kate, I agree with you but I'm just saying what my C said. I'm not happy, I dont usually have milk anyway so having a skinny latte should be my HEXA, but she says no. Someone else here might be able to tell us more.

I don't think I'd "officially" count the 6 syns as a HExA but if I was on Red / Green and have only used one A, I'm more likely to allow myself to go over a bit more on my syns with milk (if that makes sense??) I don't think I'd do it a lot though. Might ask at class on Thurs what my consultant thinks.
Have a great day :) x

If I'm doing green or red I minus 6 syns and count it as a hexA + whatever remaining syns if I have one of the light or skimmed drinks from Starbucks. I would say that it's not something I'd drink everyday; it is a treat and I think in 13 weeks I've done this 3 times.

Maybe the reason for the HeA issue is that it isnt an exact measure? So you would have to count it as the syn value if you were to have a coffee?? Not sure, but thats how I would interpret it.
But, you can have an allowance of Skimmed milk as a HeA!! 350ml to be exact!

IMHO I would say use the 350ml of skimmed milk as a HExA, especially if you aren't likely to use it otherwise as it's important we get our calcium etc. I remember my consultant saying in the past that you have to be careful of quantities and syrups, but as you've synned them up, it should be fine. Don't worry. I will try and ask on Thurs x

Hi

I think i will use it when i havent had a HexA, i dont do it often!!!

And starbucks sugar free syrup is free, normal syrup is one syn per pump.

Costa doesnt state syn values for syrup or if they do sugarfree!!

Kate

I always count my starbucks or costa drink as an A choice. It's milk - why shouldn't you?

Be careful when the syrup isn't sugar free - it may be one syn a pump, but they use 3 pumps in a tall, 4 pumps in a grande etc etc

I think the consultant in question is probably meaning when drinks are 6 or 7 syns but not 350ml of milk is used. Make sure you go for one that is big enough, deduct 6 syns from the drink total, and you'll be ok.

I love Costa and Starbucks. I usually have a skinny latte as a HEXA and if in Starbucks I'll have the sugar free syrup. Costa don't do a sugar free syrup so I'll just have a plain latte in there. Be interested to know what all your C's say about using a HEXA for this....

So does anyone know if this also applies to costa frescatos?! the milky ones...do you think it would be safe to deduct 6 syns if counting it as an a?! if so im off now :) xx

Hubby would love to know this as these are his favourites. But I've watched them make it and they put powder in (a thickener?) so surely theres a syn value in there??
