Puddings errrr not so sure - chickpea cake

was hankering after something sweet today so to distract myself i decided to make the chickpea cake with the reward of having something sweet and not using loads of syns.
so made it with orange and lemon zest and juice and it looked nice and cake like when it came out of the oven so my hopes were high:) but when i tasted it my hopes were dashed:( it tasted bland so im wondering if i put enough sweetenerrr in it, the recipe said to pour the juice from lemon/orange so did this and it made it slightly better but still not great. so as i was going to throw it anyway i decided to experiment a bit with it so sliced it in half and spread 2 tsp ww strawberry jam onto it, which tasted ok and then mixed some quark with some options hot choc and spread that onto a bit of it and that tasted ok to, so if i was to make it again and im not sure if i would but i think i would add some hot choc powder to it before its cooked and try making it into a choc cake or maybe add something to take away the blandness of it.

however in my case the moral of the story is there is no substitute for real cake regardless of it only having a couple of syns in it:(

I think I'd be the same and I've yet to try making any. I miss the lemon drizzle cake I used to make.
