Rebel without a calorie
As I'm a bit grumpy today things are starting to niggle me. I'm normally a little ray of sunshine, honest!
But first some good news..... my friend's OH had her band fitted in Belgium yesterday. All went well and they're returning home today. I hope this is the answer she is looking for.
Right, my niggle.....
About a year ago a friend of a friend of a friend etc had a full bypass on the NHS. During the year she has lost an incredible amount of weight, is now a size 10 and I have followed her progress through the evil medium that is facebook.
A few weeks ago she and her other post-surgery friends were bleating on about how the NHS wont fund further surgery for them for boob jobs, tummy tucks etc. Uhm... by the NHS funding it does she mean those of us who work and pay national insurance? (she doesn't work but could)
My biggest niggle is that today she has been to her dietician and lied that she eats sensibly and only drinks squash. This from a woman who posts every weekend about how much vodka she's had, how drunk she is and how her post-surgery friends are ill, passed out, fallen down etc. One of them was ill last weekend after a bender and is now in hospital. I don't know yet if it was a direct result of the bender.
Sorry to rant but we're here paying our own way through Exante and taking full responsibility for our weight problems, making the change to our lives and hopefully living longer and healthier. It makes me cross that someone who has been lucky enough to have this surgery funded for her is so quick to abuse it in this way.
I haven't had a pop at her yet, after all I don't actually know her, but have seriously considered it. Maybe I'll just delete her!
