Would you recommend to buy a slow cooker???? What are the advantages etc.... Just seen the thread about the Lidl one.

Thanks!

I love my slow cooker..... have had one for years and years and when we moved here one of the first electrical things I bought was a slow cooker.... when we are going out for the day I fill it up with meat and veggies switch in on and hey presto when we get back there is a hot meal waiting...great for soups, stews and a whole lot more.

I adore my slow cooker. Wanted one for about a year before I took the plunge and got one - didn't want it to be just another kitchen gadget. I've made loads in it - my favourite is probably beef curry. It's great for batch cooking too - bought a 6ltr one by accident which really annoyed me but I'm so pleased! I can make about 3 meals and freeze ready for next time x

I love mine too, got mine from Tesco for £10.
Planning to take it on hols, so we can be out for the day and come home to a cooked meal.

I got one from Tesco too and it is ace.

I like to make hotpot, stews and soups in mine.

You just throw everything in and head off out for the day. The house smells great when you get home.

There are loads of recipes online for them but I like to use allrecipes as they have quite a lot of choice.
If you are worried about how it will taste pop a casserole in the oven on gas mark 1 for about 5hrs. Tastes the same :)

I LOVED MY SLOW cooker. Then it broke. Gave it a loan to a friend and got it back and it had a crack in the base.

I really want a new one for the autumn winter time though.

I bought mines for £10 from TJ Hughes.
