Red & Green

I've only ever done the EE plan, and it's the only one my consultant has been through with me. I've been having really slow losses (averaging at less than half a pound a week...) so thinking about doing red and green to give me a bit of a boost.

I think I've got the gist of it from my book, but what's the 'one or two Hex As' about, will I get a better loss if I just stick to one?

Also, can I just alternate between red and EE, or do I need to throw some green in there as well?

Are there any really easy mistakes that I need to make sure I avoid? Already spotted that peas are sinned on red :(

Thanks for any help you can offer me!!

Hi - Yeah on red & green days you have 1 or 2 if you wish HEa choices & 2 HEb choices :)

I tend to use my HEb's in my 28g porridge of a morning & usually 198g (raw weight) new pots (in skins) with evening meal.

HEa is my milk for porridge & maybe some cheese along the way.

And yes - peas AND sweetcorn (that killed me when I found out :( ) are synned on red days.

And parsnips :)

I just spotted that as well!! Was planning to have a jacket potato for lunch, until I realised how little a 227g potato actually is, so thought I could bulk it up with some corn on the cob. No such luck :(

I think I've been taking advantage of the amount of free food on EE (it's all free, I don't need to worry about portion control....!) so hopefully this will help me reign myself in a bit!

Sorry to bring this back up but I'm still trying to get my head round this!

For green days, cheese is listed in the Hex A and Hex B lists - so I could have 3 babybel light with my lunch as an A, and then 3 more with my evening meal as a B, is that right?!

Yes that's right Laura.

They say variety is the "spice of life", but if you want the same for HEA and HEB then go for it, it's perfectly allowed :)

Also I know with EE that it's recommended you fill a third of your plate with superfree foods and it's really important to watch this on red and green days because it's really easy to just fill up on your x2 healthy Bs and pasta!
Also watch your syns because some things may have a higher syn value now (like sausages) depending on which day you're doing.

I know some people who've had great losses with EE but I myself couldn't do it either because I'm like you Laura and need the red and green days to reign me in!
