Hi I'm new

Hi my name is Marie, I'm 31 and new here.

All my life I've been a tiny size 8 up until a bad breakup with my finacee then I got depression and went up to 11.5 stone. I went on a calorie counting diet and went down to 9 stone. Not my original weight but I was happy with that.

Then my beloved dog of 10 years got sick and had to be pts. After not eating a thing while he was ill I went into a depression after he died and started eating crips and sweets and drinking a lot.

Now I am 15 stone!!! I am fed up of the shocked comments from people I haven't seen in a while. Some people have been so rude to me. Saying "OMG you're massive now" and stuff like that.

I've decided enough is enough and I'm gonna do something about it. I hate how I look but also I feel so unfit it's unreal.

After one week I lost 4lbs which I was happy with.

I weighed today after the second week and I've only lost another 2lbs so I feel a bit down about it all to be honest.

I've bought an exercise bike which is coming on thursday so hopefully that will help too.

Hi Marie and welcome, you have had a lot of bad luck and no wonder you were depressed, i would be too. But at least you have taken the step of getting back in contol .Dont get down re the weight loss 6lbs in 2 weeks is a great loss. Are you calorie counting :)

Hi

I agree 6 lbs in two weeks is great - if you keep up at this rate you should be losing half a stone a month :)

Thanks for the reply guys, yes I'm calorie counting as that worked for me in the past. I feel really down today. My sisters both said not to bother if that's all I've lost this week. Now I feel like crap.

I just hate the way I look now. I'm so unfit. Thanks for the kind words. Hopefully if I come on here each week you guys can give me some support.

I'm also getting a slendertone belt. I know it doesn't shift the fat but I want to tone my stomach muscles. Even when I was slim they were very slack.

Hiya Marie not being rude but dont listen to your sisters, 6lbs in 2 weeks is bloomin amazing, Id give my right arm for that kind of loss (well maybe not my arm :D) I'd been doing Weight Watchers since Feb, lost 2 stone then scales didnt really do anything for 6 weeks Grrr so today Ive switched to Calorie counting, hopefully the scales will move again.

I know exactly how you feel, when I was younger I was size 8 with a 24 inch waist!! Good god!! Im the same age as you and have put weight on over the years, got to my biggest 14stone 2lbs and size 18, HATED the way I looked so decided to do something about it. Im now a size 14 and much happier, hoever still want to lose another 3 stones.
Ignore narrow minded pig headed nob heads that remark on your weight - although if it was me Id spit back "Jesus Christ, you got uglier!"lol. You can do this, in a few months you'll look flipping amazing then you can stick two fingers up at the people who said those things to you x x

2 lbs a week is a good realistic weight loss - We all would love to lose 7lb a week but unfortunatly its not going to happen - Just take a peak over on the cambridge diet board, most weekly losses are still only 4lbs!

I have had a slendertone for a couple of years but only just started to regularly use it - personally I would recomended it, you really can feel your muscels working, are you looking at buying the slendertone system (the one with one controller you can plug into different garments)? When I lose a bit more weight I'm going to treat myself to the arms and bum garments

awww thank you soooo much. Yeah as you get older your figure isn't what it was :-(

I know I'll never be a size 8 again and don't wanna be. I'd be happy with a size 12 figure now.

Thanks for the encouragement and the friend request. You're really nice. And congrats on your weight loss.

It's a pain in the ass doing it but I'll be happier once I start getting a bit more off. Right now I want a nice cold glass of lambrini and a big bag of crisps but I'm not gonna give in.

yeah I just got it today, it just arrived. I bought the one you said that recahrges and fits different things. I actually can't fit the bloody abs one around me at the moment but I knew that when I bought it. I'll have to wait a bit to use that one.

I got the arms thing too and can wear them so I'm just waiting for it to charge. My muscles have been very weak all my life. My arms have always killed me if I lift heavy things. I'm just waiting for the thing to charge then I'm getting them on lol.

Thank you for the encouragement. I'm gonna get the bums one too when I've slimed enough to actually fit it on.

Awwww thanks chick :) Do you have any old jeans a size smaller than you are now? I kept some old clothes and every weigh day I tried them on, just to see if i could see a difference. For a while, nothing, then one day, I pulled them over my hips. a few weeks later I could actually do them up without a muffin top spilling out everywhere. Its amazing encouragement once you get some old jeans on! Dont be discouraged if you dont see a difference right away - it took me ages then it just seemed overnight I looked different in the mirror.

2lbs a week really is a fabulous loss, at that rate in a mere 7 weeks youd be a whole stone lighter. fancy that! Youve lost 6lbs already in 2 weeks - thats practcally half a stone already - another 8lbs and then go out and treat yourself to something nice, cos you'll deserve it! xx

Forgot to add, record all your measurements now (bust, waist hips etc etc) and every weigh day measure yourself again. You'll find that sometimes even if the scales havent registered much, you'll have lost some inches. Yay!

Hi - sorry you have had such a bad time. Just wanted to congratulate you on your 6lb weight loss - I would be very happy with that!! You have already been given some great advice but really, take no notice of what your sisters say, you're doing this for you, not them. Don't give up.

I chucked all my old stuff out recently. I'm gonna buy some nice new clothes when I've lost a bit. Thanks again for the encouragement. You really are a lovely person. It's so nice to talk to someone that understands.

I tell ya if I was your weight right now I'd be soooooo happy.

Thanks. Yeah I've had some really nasty comments. I cried my eyes out at work when this guy I used to work with came back for a visit. He took one look at me then turned to another colleague and said "she's huge what happened to her".

I walked off into the office and could still hear him on the steps to the office going on about it. I tried to hold it in but burst out crying after he left.

Thanks I did calorie counting a while back after I went to 11.5 stone and went down to 9 stone. I felt great then

when I started I didn't think I'd lose more than a couple of pounds and only 6 weeks later I'm a stone down, you can do it!
