hi all i need motivation and guidance, do i join slimmng world or go back to ww for last ever time, i know it may sound odd but ww is like a drug when u join u seem to get addicted and try and stop and find urself yo yo ww ing. is sw easy to follow i work full time and im dairy free and dony drink alcohol at all???

I have never done WW - but can highly reccomend SW. If you stick to it (and it easy to get to grips with) then you will get results :)

Depends if you want to do something you know works and you know how to do or if you think you'd benefit from a change.

Both plans work well if you stick to them x

its up to you obv but i have been to slimming world and ww, and would favor sw over ww. i like ww as i can use my 19/20 points to eat whatever i want. however i was making unwise choices.
with sw i think you eat more fruit than ww, as its pointed.
but as others have said its what you think will suit you best, with work and the food you enjoy.
lets put it this way b4 ww and sw we were obv doing something wrong, so ww or sw got to be better than that lol.
good luck x

thanks all, on ww i tend like most to eat high point things and starve till i can eat again and then eat badly, potion sizes are a prob

Well to be honest there's a reason why you, and all of us, are/were overweight. And it's probably too many of those high point foods! What in particular do you like eating? If it's junk food and snacks then you're not going to find it any easier on SW. You need to be willing to make permanent changes to your lifestyle for any plan to suceed.

hi, its not junk food as such, so being dairy free i cant eat kfc, hate macdonalds as i used to work there and burger king is 20 miles away, chinese is a fav and have once a week, but me and bf share a main and rice. i eat alot of sweets and sweet things and crave cakes and savoury things, i lost 2 stone on ww when i did it first time, i just need to go to meetings and stick to it, im feeling sw will be fresh start and be exciting for me to stick to it, i love fruit and veg and rarley eat red meats, but as im overweight im no angel i eat large portions and lack motivation

What have you got to lose (except a few pounds financially and physically). I lost with Slimming World, tried WW and then switched back. However everyone is different - so give it a try, you can always switch back if its not for you - give it a couple of weeks and discuss on this site with other members. Whatever you do I hope it works out.

It sounds to me as though you're an ideal Slimming Worlder though - we cook a lot from scratch, fish, veg and fruit are all free and super slimming, and most of us spend our syns on a treat be it a Chinese takeaway or something else.

goodluck

we love cooking and i have to cook from scratch rather than jars and bing meals cos most things contain milk. i just over indulge in stuff

Having been to both WW and SW, I'd say that SW is easier to follow. It also encourages you to eat more healthily. I went to WW for four months last year and lost two stone - so it obviously does work. I'm just learning the ropes of SW but it is liberating not having to weigh and point everything (peas for example!). I feel I eat more 'normally' on SW which makes it a plan you can follow for life. However with WW I piled almost all the pounds back on when I came off plan as I'd stopped measuring and counting points. If SW works for me I'm in love FOR LIFE!:p:p:p

Hi
I joined WW 7 years ago and lost 3 stone in 10 months. Then due to circumstances it came piling back on. So, to support a friend I rejoined a WW meeting in 2008. Over the course of 2 years, I rejoined 3 times, but just couldnt get into it. I also suffered frequent migraines which I thought at the time, was just 'hereditary'.

In march this year i joined SW, and so far I have lost 1 stone (putting on here and there occassionally due to my shift work pattern). Because of my gains, i decided to do a WW week at home, it didnt work, i constantly felt hungry which caused me to overeat with the thought of 'oh well, i will get back to it tomorrow' and my headaches mysteriously reappeared (hadnt had one since march). I also found i was missing my healthy meals that I was having on SW, so yesterday, I restarted the SW plan, and boy, was it heaven!! Also, my hubby was doing WW and had plateau'ed so I advised him to try SW for a week which he did. Although he said he felt a lot fuller after a meal than he did on WW, he just missed the flexibility of being able to eat 10 WW Desserts a day if he wanted (3 points vs 8.5 syns!!) so he has decided to return to WW. So, its all down to what you think suits your lifestyle. I would try SW for two weeks and see how you get on.

(Also, doing SW has totally broken my lifelong habit of eating my fave foods, crisps and burgers, I always look for alternatives now (a healthy jacket potato) and if i do succumb, I find that i dont enjoy it and wish i had had something else, lol!)

i have got my bf mum to come with me, we going thursday

Hi I would highly recommend trying SW. I find that I have been able to tweek my fav fatty meals to fit in with the plan - like burger and chips with cheese and mayo. I eat more when I'm on plan and never go hungry or get bored cause there are so many recieps to try.

You can eat free foods all day and still enjoy a take away (occasional) in the evenings with your syns. It doesn't work for everyone, I think your either a WW or a SW girl - give it a go and then you can make an informed decision as to which one suits you better.

Good luck on your weight loss journey whichever route you choose.
