Anyone else feel really protective of SW?

Whenever I hear of people saying things that aren't very positive about SW I get defensive, because I know it WORKS. and it really annoys me when they compare it to WW. There is nothing WRONG with WW, but it is very different, and it annoys me that people think it's the same thing. UGH

So yeah, now i'm going to book myself in the loony bin... I think I have SW OCD!!:8855:
 
I totally agree MH! I hate it when people say things like "you can't eat that on your diet" etc etc...

They don't understand! I have ended up in heated rows with people over it before he he!

I just smile sweetly now and say something along the lines of "This is so yummy... I might have another in a minute"... then wait for them to grovel to me in a few weeks about how I've lost weight.

Smug or what! Ha ha!
 
I'm the same, a lot of people I know think SW is a lot more restrictive than it obviously is (based on nothing but propaganda btw). It annoys me when people say "gosh I could never diet like you, I like my food too much"... Well so do I!! Which is why I'm on SW in the first place sheesh! And when I meet up with friends they say something like "Oh they don't have any salad on the menu..." or if we're at a coffee shop it's "plain black tea for you?" Errr NO!! Tall skinny hazelnut latte please :D

I can totally understand how Starlight (WWer and minimins admin) feels about people bashing WW and making sweeping, ignorant comments about WW advocating junk and pre packed food. That's so untrue as well. People make incorrect assumptions and it makes me want to pull my hair out and scream sometimes!
 
I will sing the praises of SW to anyone who wants to listen (and those who don't) and I also don't like it when people make rude comments about it.
I've had many "how can you eat ALL that" comments and how on earth can you lose when when you are not hungry comments and I say, it's easy!

All diets are wonderful if followed correctly - there are some things I don't like about SW (no matter how much I love it), I don't like the cous cous/chick pea cake thing, I don't like the pasta quiche thing, and I don't like the fact that some pasta in sauces etc are free and others not, depending on the brand etc. It can cause confusion.

That's just my opinion though. I adore SW, it's with me for life and I'll protect it with you.

Totally agree - I dont understand why people feel the need to knock something that they quite clearly have never tried!
 
A couple of my friends have tried SW and come off it again. They say it was an awful diet and it was disgusting. For me, it isn't disgusting. I absolutely love the taste of Quorn! Just because the food on the plan isn't to your taste doesn't mean that it's no good for anyone. Makes me really angry that people put it down all the time saying it's too complicated and you can't have what you want. I can have what I want and frequently do!
 
Essentially they didn't get on with anything vegetable like or made from vegetables. They didn't have EE when they were on it though. They keep trying to swing me to do what they do and calorie count. If I did that I'd just have my calories in chocolate. This way (the SW way) I know I'm getting a balanced intake of foods!

Have you noticed how that winds me up ;)

There was a spate of threads on here a while back.....a good while back.... where people were asking for advice on which diet to do SW or WW. The threads were shocking, they turned into total diet bashing the ones we have had recently are so much more balanced. I think its nice people can say that while one didnt work for them its still a great diet, and lets face it, if were honest, if one of the diets hasnt worked for us, its usually cos were not doing it properly not the fault of the diet.

Funnily enough theres a thread on WW just now asking 'Why is WW better than SW' and everyone whos replied (almost all WWers) have said actually its not, theyre different and its down to personal choice.

I think though when you find the diet thats perfect for you you want to share the fact with people and because its perfect for you you cant really see why someone would want to do any other one lol
