I don't think I am able for this

I started again on SS (did 5 weeks SS+/810 before, and 3 days SS last week) and I am mentally not able to do this. I know come day 3 I will come off plan but I also know this is all that works. I don't want to keep restarting so I was thinking of having one evening a week where I come of the plan and have something I really want. I know this may seem stupid but if it gets me through. I'd still lose weight wouldn't I?

On my day off I'd have my 3 shakes and then have something at 7pm or so.

Moving up the plans won't work for me.

One worry I have is the effect that going in and out of ketosis will have on my body?

Advice?

what do u mean by 'eat anything i want'
treat yourself to an ice cream? a blow out meal? a bar of chocolate? a bit of chicken? a salad?

i think what you have will have an impact on doing this... altho i am NOT an expert.

When I say eat something I want it would depend on a few different things! What I have been craving alot or if I am going somewhere/having people over then it may be a meal, it might just be a bowl of fruit if that's what I feel like!

I think with diets like CD it is all in your head.

If you`re not "in the zone" mentally, You`ll never make it. You need to be focussed and see it as a choice and to understand why you`re doing it.

I for one, Could not do this diet if I didn`t see it that way. I`d fail at the first hurdle.

If you`re not there (which you obviously aren`t) then I would just try and find another way of losing weight. I think doing SS then eating whatever you fancy is not healthy at all :(

That is my personal opinion though. I just worry what this could do for your health

Xx

Forgot to add, What about moving up to a higher plan so that you can still eat something?

I don't think moving up plans would work because it's not eating that bothers me (in that eating chicken and salad won't help...! lol) it's the fact that I feel like I am punishing myself.

I may do the JUDDDD (up day down day diet) and so CD on my DD.

I'd be worried that if I ate more calories on one day then the other (such as the judddd) that the body would be knocked out of ketosis (which takes me a week to get back into if I have a set back) so will not be burning the fat gained on the up day.

Also if the body is starved one day and then the next everything is eaten.. this will probably result in the body clinging onto the fat from the up day to prepare for the next day when there is little calories.

I had a set back on my birthday, I had a meal out ... beef and vegetables (but think the veg had been cooked in fat as had the beef) I went back onto the plan and stuck to it for 100% till then end of the week and still gained a lb

I think if you do that , you will have the trotts too and tummy upsets

unless you stick with low carb meal once a week cd won't really be the best thing to do especially as you see it as punishing yourself.., but juddd maybe the way to go for you, your body won't cling to the updays calories/fat as long as you don't go mad and least with the cd shakes you'll know your dd calories, i will defo be following juddd for maintainance:eek:

why dont you try slimming world as then you can eat. I think the whole idea of CD VLCD is to not eat and keep your calories at a minimum. If you eat then you are spoiling it, and each time you eat you will beat yourself up over what it is. HUGS

Hello!

would you rather lose 1lb a week and have what you want or 3-4lb a week and stick to this diet?

If you have the patience and want to lose it slowly then go ahead and SS 6 times a week and have a day off.

An alternative is to plan a day off every month or 6 weeks.

As a clinical hypnotherapist your comments tell me alot. Most interesting (for me) is that you feel you are punishing yourself.

I really suggest you find a good, accredited hypno-analyst in your area and go for some sessions. This will change your life forever and help you deal with your food issues.

I can almost hear the comments people will come up with to respond to this but the same goes for all of us. Keep an open mind and look into it. You should easily be able to have a free initial consultation with no obligation.

Anyway, whatever you decide to do, whoevers advice you decide to follow or ignore, just keep posting!

These guys are wicked and really help me on my bad days!!

I was actually considering this as I have a very strange relationship with food. I eat junk because I can, not because I crave/want it or because I like it. I do comfort eat at times (not often though, just during really tough times like bereavment etc).

I view all food the same now so eat what's there. I bought a book today called "the weekend off" diet. It sets out plans for Monday to Friday and also rules for the weekend (it's not "way all you like" at the weekend, but have 3 meals, 2 snacks, if what you want (aslong as the want is above 6 on a 1-10 scale), and the normal stuff of eat only when hungry, eat till satisfied etc... Hopefully it'll work..!

2 days before I started Exante, my mate did a therapy she has been working on. I never went through headaches or anything going into ketosis (I usually do when low carbing)

One of my friends has trained as an Hypnotherapist and needed case studies. I went to his home last night. He did a session that makes me replace my happiness in eating food with happiness in other things. I wont really know if it has worked until I am refeeding...as I have found tfr really easy.

What I want to say after being long winded is therapies can help a lot! The subconcious mind is a very powerful tool and we should use it a lot more than we do.

Good look with whatever you decide to do x
