Hi everyone i asked my doctor if i could get lipotrim from him instead of paying £44pw and he point blank just said NO i am really disapointed as having 4kids and not much work on right now £44 is alot of money to me does any one here get it free from the doc? thanks :)

It's cheaper from the main website, but i get mine from my local co-op chemist.

It wouldn't be free from your doctor honey, it would be dispensed on a private prescription and I think it would be about the same cost x

thanks 4 the replys and i was thinking my doc was just been mean lol could be some thing to do with the fact i havent had a meal since thursday and im just looking 4 an excuse to eat the head of who ever :sigh:

its £33 per week not 44

hi i pay 44pw for mine where do u get urs?

omg really??

i get mine from weldricks chemist in sheffield, they told my they charge £36 on thier other branches but they keep thier at £33.........:sigh: i cant believe u pay that much, where r u from

I pay £36 a week, and so does my friend in Manchester. Surely there should be one price for this kind of product?? Doesn't seem fair that some people are being charged more!

a agree hun but i would be buggered if they up it to 48, would not be able to carry on

Oh I completely agree....you would have thought that lipotrim would have controlled the price across the board. Doesn't seen fair. I couldn't afford much more than I'm already paying

Are you in Ireland by any chance? As for some reason they charge more too.

Bog standard across the board is usually £36 for women and a little more for men.

I think the reasoning behind the docs not giving it out for 'free' or on a cheap prescription is because its litterally your 'food'. They can't be seen giving someone help with their food when many struggle as it is to buy healthy stuff like fruit and veg - can you imagine the uproar?! :giggle:

Hi everyone
omg i cant believe the diff in the price, i am from northern ireland there are only a few places around here you can get lipotrim from, im going to ring around today and check out the other pharmacys price. My friend who was around 15stone over weight got it from her doctor, i need an op ASAP and my doctor is always complaining abt my weight so thought he may have even looked in to it 4 me :)

My doctor looked into it for me last year, she tried all the different possible ways and eventually sent me a letter to say they wasn't able to perscribe it for me.

I think it is a case of it's your food and they are unable to give it to you or help with those costs.

It's £36 here also, when I first went on lipotrim almost 10years ago, It was just under £20 a week for it. Inflation huh! lols. If your pharmasist can't give it you for the usual price, couldn't you get it from the website and visit the pharmasist to get weighed weekly.

For some reason it is more in Ireland than mainland UK, men also pay more even though they only have 2 packs a day as their packs contain more in total than the women's 3 packs

well i emailed Lipotrim and this is what they said....

Hello,

Lipotrim is a pharmacy supervised weight loss programme originating in England.

There are significantly higher costs to running the Lipotrim Pharmacy Programme in Ireland. These include higher costs of storage, premises, distribution, etc.

These additional costs as well as the higher general business operating costs in Ireland are reflected in the price of Lipotrim in Ireland.

Best regards
Lipotrim Ireland

No offence but your doctor is quite right, the NHS shouldn't be paying for people to go on specialist diets like this when cheaper alternatives are available i.e. regular exercise and a healthy diet

I myself bought it off a certain auction site; I felt I wasn't overweight enough to actually get it through the proper channels. Cost me £180 for 1 months' supply, I recently bought another months' supply as I wanted to get right down to my previous weight and the same person sent me 2 months' supply for the price of one :D
