Finally started

Hello

Have been reading for a few days and am ready to jump in :D

I'm on day 3 of attack, first one at work and a bit worried about making it through the day but am prepared and the weather(and broken aircon) is making my appetite disappear a bit.

Have been meaning to get back into weightloss mode for AGES but have been quite, quite rubbish. Saw the book in waterstones, was interested, read up a bit online(found you guys) and decided to go ahead quickly before I made up more excuses.

Food wise made do with what I had on sat (and lovely lunch at Yo sushi) and shopping arrived sunday. So far its going okay but its making me wee alot

Have a long long way to go.

Thanks for all the useful info, its been most helpful already.

Good morning :) and welcome, we are generally very helpful on the diet here but sometimes we do go off on tangents lol :D

Good luck and let us know if you need to know anything!

I find it easier at work than when im at home on the weekends!

Me too... re easier at work than at weekends!

If you're on day three, you're nearly over the "worst" and you'll hopefully soon not be hungry any more... we have a "what are you eating today" thread, so feel free to join in. Any questions, try us...

And if you want to chat, there's a daily chat thread for inane natter - but we're pretty good at turning any thread into an "off topic" post!

Welcome! I'm on week 2 and so far so good. Lunches in the office were a big concern for me too.

It's much easier when you are on a PV day, so I've structured my Cruising so I am PVing on Mon-Tues-Thur-Fri - and only PPing on Wednesdays, Saturday and Sunday.

Mind you, I've just posted a recipe on the recipe thread that would make an excellent packed lunch! :D

its wierd how different people find different things easier :) its good we can change the diet to our days to make it easier!

Hi and welcome. Just out of interest wht did you eat at YO sushi? Dont forget that rice of any sort is a no go area

Thanks for all the welcomes.

At Yo! I had Tuna sashimi, Salmon sashimi (both the plain sort) and beef Tataki which comes on a bed of herby sauce but I just ate the meat.

dukanette, I'll be looking to do similar to you, its as much having a normal looking lunchbox as anything  but also skipping the holiday sweets and birthday cakes etc and not popping to the shop to get something as I'm 'starving' on the way home are the things that make a work day harder for me.

Ah once you start getting into ketosis you wont feel hungry! so you wont want to nip to the shop :D
just make sure you have plenty of things to nibble on. Chicken breasts, crab sticks, prawns, boiled eggs etc.

That is funny! I SOOOO prefer PV at the weekend!

yeah me too Jo. chicken or fish is easier for me at work. :) plus WI on friday and i always retain water when i have .

Hi jaqys - Longratia is right. it's very unlikely that you'll actually feel hungry at all (weird, but true!). Your body is going to be too busy processing protein to remind you to eat!

I see where the other ladies are coming from with their preferences to PV at the weekend. Makes sense! For me personally, it makes more sense to do it during the week - mainly to avoid the weird looks I'd get eating nothing but protein, but also because I'm rubbish at packed lunch planning, and it's just easier to pick up a PV option in my staff restaurant.) At the weekends I can take time to cook and have total control over my menu options - and I live alone so don't have anyone looking at my plate and telling me that can't be good for me.

I've lost 6lbs in 9 days, feel fantastic and actually appear to have a waist again, so I would argue it's very good for me indeed! :D And not eating veg at weekends is a small price to pay to be get back to my "true weight"!

Keep us posted on how you get on. :)

well done Dukanette :) fab loss x

I echo the congratulations...

How lucky having a canteen to choose one's salad from! I guess yeah, in those circumstances, I too would go the other way... but when you need to get to a market, shop fresh, etc., and prepare, cook and package up for lunches, PP is easier!

Also restaurants are awkward on PP I find... and if ever I go, it'd be on a wkend!

I know a canteen! wow.

I always make my lunch up the night before and I always plan my meals so I know what im having anyway. And like you Jo eating out on PP would prove difficult AND boring :D

(and it's expensive eating out on PP... I do it here at lunchtime sporadically... you need a GOOD steak and you leave the rest of your plate! £15 that "good steak" cost me last time, and my friend enjoyed the rest of it... and I had to avoid the (free) bread basket.

Felt far more deprived than when I eat here my own things... like you, Vicky, I prepare in the evenings...

I have got a real craving for a huge steak at the moment. Got one out of freezer to have tomorrow :D

Having one Friday evening... will transport it defrosting in the car on Friday for when we arrive at the house... as I've a half day Friday, it "messes" up the usual food plan and the breakfast muffins will now be "lunch" (as opposed to "dinner" normally on a Friday PP!). Keeping up?!!

lol just about :D

Wish we had a canteen we just have (massivly)overpriced sandwich shops and a pizza place. I really miss working somewhere central.

pizza place! oh my i would be in trouble!
