Any SW fans in North East

Hi All,

I'm very new here and a bit of a technophobe as never used a site like this before, but would really like to give it a try.

I started Slimming World 7 weeks ago and so far have lost 9.5lb (hooray).:party0011:I'm doing Green Days for the most part, as I'm living with my sister and her family at the moment and they are vegetarian. Be happy to post vegetarian recipes if anyone in need.

I've only lived in this area for 10 weeks so don't know many people yet. Would be happy to chat with anyone form anywhere really, but would be great to hear from others in Middlesbrough area.I'd really like to be part of a group if anyone wants me. I could do with the extra support and think the team challenges are a great idea.

Hope to meet some new friends soon.:553:

Hello LBM :)

Not from Mbro but will still talk to you! Any opportunity to have a little natter ;)

As for calling yourself a technophobe... one thing I found really helps is the blue bars along the top of the screen, the top one, near the right, called quick links. If you click that and go to subscribed threads near the bottom of the drop down list, you can access any threads you've posted on, so it's easier to find replies etc :)

Great losses so far! I think I'm experiencing the slow & steady thing too :) I think that will help us keep it off for longer in the future. Benefit of Green days (in my opinion) is the 2 HexAs and Bs!

Hope you enjoy Minimins xxx

Hi Irene H and 10st10lb,

thank you for replying and especially for telling me how to find the thread I originally posted, still finding my way around the sight.

10st10lb - I was having a read of your diary and very much admire your honesty. I've been really struggling to honestly count my syns, basically because I know I go way over and then I think oh whats the point. I know how to do the healthy but I keep eating all the naughty things too!:17729:

I really struggle with emotional eating and chocolate is my biggest downfall, so I set myself a mini target this week to eat NO CHOCOLATE ---Ahhhhhhh! Scary!!:wave_cry: But, so far so good, I've had a couple of days of not county properly because of going out for brother in laws birthday etc but have made mostly sensible choices and no chockie - hoorah!:angel09:
When I got to the bottom of your page there was a list of threads at the bottom of the screen and I found an amazing thread that included an article all about emotional eating, I haven't read it all yet but so far it's very good and just what I needed. The only thing that disapoints me about SW is that I don't think they address the issue of emotional eating enough, it seems clear to me that most people there have this as a major problem and that's why they are overweight. I'm going to jot down the url address for the thread and suggest others at my class take a look.

It's pooring with rain here, I'm thinking of going and standing in it as an alternative to emotional eating - tee hee - here I go :badmood:

Take care.

Hey LBM :)

In regards to my honesty... I started off on SW trying to kid myself that if it wasn't on paper, I hadn't eaten it. The turning point was the family picnic - 31 syns, though I'd tried to be good! Thank heavens I don't drink - I'd probably have reached 60 odd! Although now I think about drinking, I don't remember if I wrote down the few sips of Tango that I had! It really made me realise that I can eat, be happy, and lose weight, as long as I keep a degree of control over myself.

No chocolate - WOW! Takes a lot of willpower to do that! I found that drinking a mug of Cadbury's Highlights or having a Choc & Fudge Alpen Light bar is enough to satisfy any chocolate cravings I have these days. The days when I go for a Kit Kat, I'm either just trying to use up my syns in that day (want to keep it to max 15 syns a day rather than max 105 syns a week) or there's something p££ing me off!

Yeah I've found some really interesting threads on here about emotional eating too, they really make you think about what you put in your mouth in a different way :)

If you're going outside, you might aswell walk in the rain! Get some body magic done girl! xxx

Well I have to say I didn't do any real Body Magic out there just messed around for a few minutes - the look on the dogs faces was priceless though as they watched me from the doorway :8855:.

I'm also thankfull that I don't really drink (only the odd one at a party) as I know that would be difficult. Weigh in tommorrow night so we'll see how I do.

cheers
