Hello,
I keep hearing about asda's chickpea dahl so i bought some today. What do you eat it with? Is it a rice thing? Is it nice cold for a packed lunch or does it need to be hot really?

A;so how do you create a signature on this forum? I can't seem to work out how to do it!

thanks

hey chickpea dahl is lovely!
I have mine with rice or slimming world chips. yes it has to be hot. i use it as i would a curry. some people eat it with jacket pots.

not sure what you mean by the signature sorry :/

You need to have I think 50 posts for signatures and stuff.

Chickpea dahl is lovely just warm it up microwave or hob and serve with whatever you fancy. It's lovely with rice and chips or just on it's own. I've piled it on ryvita before to have my HeB's.

I bought some of this after reading it was free! Have yet to have it though!

I love it too - I have it with boiled basmati rice, finely chopped salad and natural yoghurt with mint - totally free meal and so deliscious - have to say I've never had it cold though, not sure if I fancy that.

I've had it cold! I know, I'm odd! I took it into work once to have for my lunch, and cooked it before work and had it with salad. It was actually really nice! But that may just be my opinion...a bit watery but I'd have it again!!

I have searched 2 local adsa's for this and cant find it. I imagine it would be with the tinned chickpeas etc.

Tescos dont do it either :(

Tesco won't do it because it's Asda own brand and don't make the mistake of getting the sainsbury one because that is very high in syns. They usually stock them beside the tinned stews, curries etc rather than beside the pulses. But not all stores have them, my local one doesn't.

Of course you could always just make your own!

Hi, I make it into a bigger free meal which is delicious

saute a chopped onion and half red and green sliced pepper in fry light in large pan or wok, until softened along with crushed garlic clove. add some halved cherry tomatoes if you like them (i dont bother to skin them)
add tin of chick pea dhal, half a courgetted sliced, half of the empty tin of water, teaspoon of chili powder, some sliced mushrooms, black pepper and simmer gently for 5-10 mins keeping close eye for sticking - may need to top up water. i have also added a tablespoon of tom puree and syned it before now. have also added quorn sausage sliced into it which was also nice

this now feeds 2 very big plates and serve with basmati rice, or jacket potato.
yum yum:))
